The surprise guest appearance of Chris Pine in First Day of Camp made me ugly laugh.

i for one applaud them for trying to put an end to the scourge that is overhead lighting

That’s a lot of fucking lamps for one room.

Looks like two pretty interesting conversations are going on and Harry is just hardcore 5th wheeling it in his little chair.

I mean, I'm pretty sure they hate all women. But at least this one operates correctly by the rules as they understand them.

Honestly, I just find it sad all around.

Anybody else read speculation that Melania was, well...“bought” by Trump, who shops for paid girlfriends among the “models” and “beauty pageant contestants” he deals with?

no idea what you’re talking about.

You know, every so often, I engage in a little debate with someone who holds views diametrically opposed to mine. I keep thinking that as long as the debate is respectful and thoughtful, we will both learn something from each other and walk away, if not changed, at least informed.

You assume we all don’t want the best selections. We do. We also know that there will be an equal number of fully qualified possibilities who aren’t (white) men. Whenever diversity is mentioned and the first knee-jerk reaction is “but I want the BEST,” I get the impression that person is upset because he only bothers

Why do you assume that anyone who would like equal representation isn’t concerned about “the best possible?”

You are so wrong. I have seen plenty of under-qualified men get promoted over women over the past 25 years of my career. Admittedly anecdotal, so let`s look at the data, shall we?

Since you’re in the black, anyway, I’ll try to explain it: you say you don’t care, and so do the majority of people, yet white men get picked over and over again. Studies show that people in general - ones who aren’t particularly sexist - consider women to be less capable than men. When women are announced to make 50%

There’s 15 unelected positions in a president’s cabinet. Are you really trying to say that, in all of America, there aren’t 7-8 women who are qualified to hold a position in the cabinet?

What you don’t seem to realize is that there is no single “most qualified” person for cabinet positions. There are many people with very similar backgrounds and qualifications. We aren’t going to sacrifice qualifications and experience in the cabinet in favor of diversity. We’re going to have both.

This, right here is what I wish I could write when I have that rage vein in my head pulsing a drum beat. Well done.

Aw, the “you don’t know me” defense. I can read your words. They’re pretty clear. No one ever brings up “qualifications” unless someone is promising to hire women or people of color. Open your eyes, push back against what you’ve been socially conditioned to think, and improve. There’s nothing wrong with recognizing

You think you’re not saying it in a coded way, but you are wrong. You’ve just internalized the code in such a way that you’re now blind to it.

I think you Americans should do a better job at getting more women into Congress. Studies show that congresswomen (yes, both Democrats and Republicans) are more likely to push for bills that help women that than their male counterparts

I think this will be held against Clinton when people go to the polls, sadly. It was a great, very welcomed surprise when our PM did it - and because he didn’t mention his plans to do so while he was campaigning, it came across as completely genuine when he did fill the cabinet. Not everyone can be a Canadian PM,
