Everyone believes in capitalism till it becomes inconvenient. GM should have been allowed to fail. Then someone could have bought them up, the way capitalism is supposed to work, and continued on as a new concern. There’s no long term benefit to propping up failing companies.

It’s a sign that if you are going to bail out an industry, you should be negotiating concessions in exchange.
