Maybe we’re picturing different scenarios but I’m picturing two lanes merging into a one lane on ramp where there’s a line moving slowly and an open lane that ends a little ways up. In that kind of scenario all it takes is slowing down a little more than the car in front of you and get a gap big enough to let someone

Sure, you can’t legislate against douchebaggery. But you can educate. Let’s hope we’re teaching millennials how to zipper merge.

Not using the on ramp to accelerate to highway speeds. I just love getting behind someone who can only manage to get to 35 mph over the course of a half mile on ramp and then expects to merge into traffic.

Following up with the interstate theme:

Flow of traffic is more important.

Keep right except to pass. (Even if there are 3 or more lanes, stay to the right, not the middle.)

Gawd-so much stupidity.

I see plenty of riders my age or younger out my way, (32, Massachusetts). Harley sees very little love though, except from the “beer bellied, wishing they were older” guys that spend all day with those 20 years their senior. It doesn’t help that half the Harley (and Goldwing) community never wave or glance your way

Motorcycles probably shouldn’t exist in a world where cars also exist. Bad idea. Everyone I share the road with is entitled to nothing more than an equal distribution to the amount of my concern for their well being.

The general impression of HD bikes that people have might be the most unfortunate thing about them, beyond the price. Even if you only want a cruiser it’s almost impossible to justify buying a Harley over one from virtually any other big manufacturer. It’s a shame because they’re nice bikes. Handling on the few models

There’s literally nothing there designed to appeal to millennials, or anyone who wasn’t already inclined to buy a Harley.

Neutral: Would You Buy A New Harley If You Had The Money?

I always liked the description of a Harley idle as Potato-potato-potato-potato.

Starred. And thanks for the reminder. They can take their carefully cultivated faux-bro culture with them too.

Yes, it’s apparently a problem often found in capitalism.

Most people underestimate just how quickly a firestorm can travel. This video is in normal time, not sped up (see timestamp in lower left corner).

“The answer, according to the Seebachans’ lawyer Todd Tracy, can be explained by the concept of shear panels, which, like shear walls on a house, act to stabilize the structure from deformation:”

One really simple example of the whole shear stabilizing panels concept are the chintzy looking cardboard.fiberboard panels they include in furniture kits (typically for covering the majority of the back panel on a dresser). Without this panel installed the entire structure is weak and unstable, with the panel
