i was so proud as a 5 year old back in 1990 when I successfully jumped over and not in the first hole on 1-1. Took me a good while because I was a kid and video games were not ubiquitous, but I at least understood the objective without being told.

Yup....

I'm older than you and i see kids try to play mobile games that have common sense functions for gameplay and they still can't figure out things that experience gamers would call no brainers. It amazes me everyday to see how new gamers have no interest in trying to explore controls and find out how a game works without

You obviously have not seen kids today try to play older mario games on the wii u virtual console. Kids are getting stuck on so many simple aspects of the game, its all over the wiiu chat rooms (miiverse) of kids just completely stuck in things that are common sense areas.

Metal Gear Solid franchise — the pinnacle of the stealth-action genre.

Agreed! 7.6L NA V8 and if you ask for anything in carbon fiber you will be tasered and dragged out of the dealership. Everything is steel and cow hide leather. Because something heavy can be made fast with more power. Source: Linemen in Football. Fat yet nimble.

I know, I am overtly stereotyping. But, yes. I think the Fire Eagle Confederate sounds like something with 700BHP and a live rear axle.

CEL was the first indication, the second was all the boys in the yard. How did you not know something was wrong?

Shit like this is why I don't respect Tesla or Elton Musk. Products break and faults occur. Take your mistakes and improve instead of being arrogant and letting your product fail again.

True, but one could also argue (and I do) that this is more of a highlight or shining a flashlight on these things.

That, and some of us need a bit of cordoning off to be who we are. I'd be one of those people.

As a gay person that lives in the south a gayberhood sounds like it would be a great place to live where I wouldn't have to worry about being harassed or attacked. Maybe you take your peace and safety for grated? I personally prefer to be around diversity, but as we so often see in the news with all the beatings,

...and of course I didn't intend to exclude people of varied ethnic and cultural backgrounds, either. We're all in it together, as gamers, regardless what part of the world we happened to be born in.

I think maybe the best way to prevent the diversity hub from being a so-called zoo for people with various sexual identities and social backgrounds is for people that don't necessarily identify as LGBTQ, as a woman, or as a person with a disability to visit and celebrate what it is to be a gamer, regardless of your

Have you ever been to a PAX? The PAX enforcers (what they call the voluntary security guards) do not tolerate bullshit or prejudice, regardless of who it is aimed at. My PAX experience made me feel like it was probably one of the safest places on Earth for a gamer of any flavor. I'm not sure what they intend to do

This is the problem with America, it's not the "puss-ification", it's the fact that people like you lack empathy. You say these people "don't want to assimilate", as if people could change the fact that they're gay, trans, black, or female. Honestly, I've seen some ignorant comments on Kotaku before, but I think this

Can't they just have "Don't Be a Dick" warnings all over the place? Or have the PA characters vocally greet every attendee with those words when they enter the convention? Seems like a very Penny thing to do.

ZOMBIE! Get the fire! Get the shotgun!

Shouldn't you be more concerned that this is like putting the minority groups in a ghetto? Like it's segregating them further instead of making them part of the community? "We're all gamers, this is our hobby" is definitely not what a lot of gamers believe, by the way. To them, some people are too 'ethnic' or too

I don't think you should make a special both for cross cutting themes like gender, sexual orientation or disabled, but you should integrate it as a whole in the event. The hows and whos should then be discussed with experts in these topics.

I think it's kind of idealistic to think that issues that are raised in gaming LGBTQ communities would be comfortably included in a default straight white male gaming community. There are exceptions, of course, but as a whole, the greater video games community is very hostile to women, LGBTQ people and racialized
