It took me much longer than it should have to realize that wearing soccer shorts to school was a mistake.

So simple and perfect. +1
I laughed out loud at the slow motion replay of him scooting on both knees like a drunk baby giraffe to finish that goal.
Was Martial ever considered a big signing though? He’s (kind of) lived up to the teenage hype, but I’m pretty sure at the moment of purchase it was widely considered a last-gasp move. Big signing in terms of price tag, yeah, but certainly not recognition.
I cannot fathom the idea of Alabama’s only professional sports franchise to be from the MLS, but I would love to see how it played out.
Never underestimate the conservative power to pick and choose which things they want to love or hate.
Not to mention the “wait, Muslims are taking over our sports?!?!?”
It will take the better part of 50 years for a relegation system to ever be both implemented and successful in this country. Don’t get me wrong, I love the idea, but it’s so far in the horizon that the best we can currently do is create academies, crop players, and convince superstars who want to live over here to…
Indeed they are, but that may be a little misleading. MLS venues also have a higher capacity than both NBA and NHL arenas. I don’t have immediate links to support that, mostly because I’m lazy right now, but I’m pretty certain that is the case.
The fact that it may have flown right over my head adds yet another dimension. I hope you’re right!
Holy shit. If that was the intention, it was brilliant.
If by explode you mean overtaking the NFL, then yeah, sure.
Every time there is a foul committed by the other team within the first 5 minutes of my soccer games, I always make a point to tell the ref “come on sir! He’s been doing it all game!”
Totally right. But Chelsea and Leicester (so far) are exceptions, not the rule. I will be cheering for Leicester the rest of the way if it meant Chelsea fall out of Europe and it doesn’t harm Liverpool’s placement.
This is precisely why, even in defeat, I love the appointment.
1) History
Spurs have a lot of quality, no doubt. But that sounds a bit harsh. A healthy Sturridge (I know, I know), Emre Can, Clyne, and Firmino all have the class to make any squad in the top 4 right now. I’m not saying they would start, depending on the team, but they are all good enough players.
It’s going to be really interesting to see how this shakes out between Liverpool and Spurs in that chase for top 4.
Clearly you jinxed it. This is your fault.
Chelsea starting 11 cost £213m, subs £73.5m.
