So what? Just watch it when you wake up or whenever. It’s ridiculous that people are moaning about this, just pretend that it’s 6pm or whenever you would normally watch this on Saturday, seriously what is you peoples problem! Just enjoy a fucking thing for a change whenever it comes out, stop gatekeeping and be happy

There’s something to be said about loading up a game and having 99% confidence that it’ll work because it’s a closed ecosystem. I don’t have to mess with drivers or settings unless I want to because the game was designed for that hardware and OS.

I think a key though is that all the successful games you list other than Destiny 2 are free to play. I’ve dabbled with Genshin and played the heck out of Star Rail on the PS5 - and even though the content is live service, the games are very SP. I haven’t really spent money beyond a couple of season passes when I had

I don’t think that makes Final Fantasy XVI lazy. It looks like quite an enjoyable game for people who are into its particular flavor of action combat and character tropes. I bounced off of it like a bouncy ball on a brick wall, but I’m not about to say the game is awful because it doesn’t really try to appeal to me.

So let me get this straight: they just had Hogwarts Legacy, a best-selling game of 2023 that’s single-player with no microtransactions and no live-service component to it, and Suicide Squad which is a GaaS disaster (in a successful Arkham series that was single-player up to this point) that went as low as 250 players

That’s insane. I’m playing XVI right now and it’s genuinely one of the greatest games I have played in years. I’ve ugly cried like four times and I’m only at the halfway point.

I’m not a game developer, but I am a software developer, so my response is: come on guys.

While I never lost a substantial amount of time, there were more than a few occasions where I lost a handful of hours of progress because I switched to another game before planting a hard save.

Wait a second, good lord. So not only do we have the more complex battle mechanics in Remake, but there are separate meters for Synergies as well as Skills, Affinity to keep track of, the map has layers, tabs, and subtabs, plus weapons skills and crafting?

People are noticing that they are upset about noticing that the method of making things noticeable is working, they don’t notice how upset they’d be if they couldn’t notice something because it wasn’t noticeable.

The unwashed reddit/tweetosphere needs to understand that THEY are not representative of the other millions who play videogames and aren’t terminally online. This kind of thing isn’t FOR THEM. The devs didn’t put that stuff in to insult your intelligence, they put it in for the normies and there are way more of them

At some point, preferably before I die of old age, I would like games to offer a “Hybrid” mode for graphics settings which will dynamically transition between high fidelity/low FPS and low fidelity/high FPS depending on whats happening

Definitely an elitism thing with most of them.

The other day I was playing and thought, if this is the last game I ever play I would be fine with that. They pack in so much content, and the gatcha isn’t unfair it should be the model for not just all free to play games but all games. I promice if I were to drop $60 on this game, which I haven’t, I would still get

I’m a computer engineer who began with aspirations of being a game dev, graduated, and then said “ah, nevermind” and went a different path on what sorts of software I went into. And here is exactly why:

What kind of human garbage threatens people, especially BABIES, over a fictional character? Just unbelievable.

This comes in the same quarter that MS reported that they’re up 27% over last year, earned $22 million in profit over expenditures, and became a $3 trillion dollar company, the most profitable in the world. They also reported that the Xbox division was up and doing financially well, with subscriptions up 13% and

That’s one reason I found some of the game’s intended emotional beats sort of hollow and unearned. I ended up with one remaining enemy wounded in one section, crawling away and begging for his life, so I was like okay, I’ll spare that guy. He got back up and tried to kill me as soon as I turned my back on him. If you d

Try having a kid, raising him for 10 or so years, and it’ll cost you some time and money, sure, but on the plus side he’ll be able to explain anything you want to know about Fortnite.

Yeah, my wife and I don’t play Fortnite and never have -- and the kids haven’t touched it in years -- but we wanted to try the Rock Band-esque modes. It was all very overwhelming to say the least lol.
