I think my other favorite quiet moment in the game is the one that starts that entire section: once the trauma of Winter has ended, you get that silent shot of Ellie staring at the artwork of the deer, obviously remembering everything that had started that mess. Not a word is said, but you don't need it: that one

Only the one. I just wanted to get her OUT. I was kind of horrified that the only way to do it was to kill the doctor, and I only just got through that before getting Ellie and booking it out of there.

The "last brain surgeon on earth" assumption is awfully egocentric of us, isn't it. ;) For all we know, the cure for this thing still could come out of, I don't know, Singapore or Egypt or India or something, and it would kind of serve America's collective egos right.

(Edited for being in the wrong thread. Nothing to see here, move along....)

Er. Pretty much THE ENTIRE MYST SERIES would count. ;)

Can't think of a better choice. I'm absolutely buying that one.

Honestly, I'd much rather find out that people internal to the situation ARE having the problem — they're more likely to believe / understand customer complaints, then. Otherwise it's like taking a car into the shop and having the mechanic not be able to reproduce the problem.

Unfortunately they sorta couldn't, since the DLC was too far along by the time he passed away. He's in it, though.

She's dirty, she's bloody, she's a mess... and her hair looks like a Pantene commercial. Cognitive dissonance IS A GO!

And for that alone? Will never play it.

Number one sign a game's taking place in Seattle:

No such luck. Would love to know what the actual conditions were for this.

Yeah, that one's really not Apple's fault. Licensing music is an arcane disaster for ANYONE. Fortunately, the system's since improved. Not long ago I was able to go back into my purchase history and re-download a couple purchases I'd accidentally deleted and somehow lost the backups to, which was a relief.

I have one very much like that - says Trinitron in the corner instead of WEGA and it's less rounded, but otherwise, same deal: widescreen 34" Sony CRT HDTV, goes up to 1080i, sadly doesn't have HDMI ports and that will eventually screw me over but until then, the image is damn good. And yes, it's 200 pounds. I'm

For me there's an acceptable level of tinkering. Basically, I expect a certain base level of functionality out of the box, and then the capability to customize and optimize from there. I resent HAVING to tinker to fix a situation where it feels like the computer's actively getting in my way.

Why I refuse to ever give GoDaddy money, in a nutshell.

Even if you're not colorblind, cables are a pain. (Behind the TV, for instance, unless I'm standing there with a flashlight, IT'S DARK BACK THERE.) I'm about at the point of making some labels for mine so I'm not just squinting at little bands of color and hoping it matches.
