Despite being something like 99% horseshit, this is still one of my favorite movies, in no small part due to John Candy’s absolutely showstopping turn as New Orleans attorney Dean Andrews. It’s too bad he didn’t have a chance to do more straight dramatic roles as a Sydney Greenstreet type.
The last 10 minutes of Inside I was just saying “Oh God, oh God, WTF” over and over again. Once it ended I just kind of sat there wondering what I just saw. I still don’t know. Obviously I’m not supposed to, but every time I think about it I can’t muster much of a response beyond this:
I envy you having that ahead of you. Not that replaying isn’t fun. Just nothing beats the first go-through.
I really enjoyed Jeffrey Dean Stanton in Watchmen. I thought he’d be a good pick for Negan but he’s cranked up the ham to 11 and even if he had better dialogue, it would still sound goofy coming out his mouth. I’m sure he was good on Grey’s Anatomy but I just couldn’t get into that show.

Well, you know, I said other things, and they didn’t quote that. They just quoted the stuff that they knew would make everybody mad. It’s really unfair. Anyway, that other stuff I said? It recontextualized this comment in a way that I am unable to reiterate now. It was, like, lots of serious shit that made me look…
Ah, the old “taken out of context” defense. Walkin’ it back here, boss, walkin’ it back.

You caught me. I lied for multiple paragraphs because I wanted the attention. Bravo.
Excellent review, Dennis. Always look forward to AV’s dissection of HaCF. As for the tune Gordon was trying to remember, as it turns out, the song is “Baby of Mine,” the very same that Donna used as a lullaby for Haley in previous seasons.
