Stef, how does it feel to be given the best remote assignment of the year?

This is my dream. My girls are 5 and 2 now. The 5 year-old has shown a little interest, but doesn’t have the attention span to do much of anything. She likes crawling around in my project 944 while I work, so I figure any proximity to the garage is good and she may naturally start asking to help. The 2 year old is

Our interstates were built after WW2, in the vision of the Autobahn (but slower).

It doesn’t take a doubling of traffic to double the time unfortunately. Once roads are at capacity, just a small increase in traffic can grind things to a halt. You can see this operate in the opposite direction during the summer, when traffic is much better in crowded areas because just a few percent of people are on

Secretly awesome. Not obviously awesome.

It does have the flat-plane crank tonal quality like a Ferrari, but it is still much more of a roar than a wail. I think they did a great job of making it sound like American muscle.

Do it! I’ve put at least a couple hundred miles on mine in the 2.5 years I’ve owned.

I’m so sorry. I laughed. I’m going to hell.

I know that 911s are rear-biased, but I didn’t realize how much. That ‘74 is like 70/30 rear biased!

Holy rear weight-bias, Batman!

Porsche has recently announced they will be producing new stock for every part number they no longer have old-stock for. I’m sure it will take a while, but this is real.

You really how unbalanced most FWD cars are? You’d have to load bags of sand or cinder blocks to really screw up handling.

Spending money is WAY better for the economy than saving or investing it, probably better even than donating it.

It isn’t terribly uncommon for cars with tube headers to have cracking issues. The headers have the highest operating temperature out of anything in the engine since they see all the hot exhaust without the benefit of any cooling system. Most production cars have cast headers which are much more durable but very heavy.

How do incentives work when you order a car? Do you get the incentives that are active when you order, when you take delivery, or do you not qualify for any at all?

How many Kias have you owned? Have you ever talked to a mechanic that works on all makes?

Jalopnik, like all auto-reviewers, gushes over nearly every new car. It’s only when a new gen comes out that you get to hear what they really thought of the last-gen. Go back and read about the CTS when it first came out, then read what they said about it when the second gen came out. It’s really tough to take what

It will perform similarly to human drivers in the DC area. It will panic and crash into all the things.

The biggest issue with these cars is the tight engine bay. Expect to have to pull the engine for many relatively minor repairs. I have always loved the design, my 2nd favorite of the 90s JDM turbos behind the RX-7, and this price is fantastic. Easily a $7k car if it was assembled and running.
