In the end, everyone is a red-shirt.

If you haven't been in one, the latest Beetles are absolute crap. I have never been in a car that felt so cheap. I should note that I clock most of my highway miles in a Kia Rondo, so I'm no snob either. So bad...

I just want to thank you for acknowledging that the language forked rather than saying Americans don't know how to speak the language. Very refreshing.

That's the worst routing of something since the Porsche 944 routing of fuel lines over the exhaust manifold.

Dat Porsche TT. The TT stands for twin turbo, right?

Really? I can't stand Chris Harris articles. I love the hoon videos, though I must say even those are starting to get a bit stale.

I have a neighbor that owns a pickup, an M3, and a 911 GT3. He only has a one car garage. So he fills the garage with shit and parks all 3 cars in his driveway. Jackass.

240SX was RWD, most Celicas (including the one pictured) are FWD. My vote would be somewhere between the Veloster and the Fiesta ST. Celica would fall somewhere between those in sportiness.

He only said it sounded the same. I've never compared, but I must say the 944 sounds like a tractor at idle, it is tough to defend it's sound.

Not sure if this is the 'it has a VW van engine' joke or not, but it doesn't apply here anyway. The 924 had the VW/Audi engine, the 944 has a ground-up Porsche engine.

LiPos are capable of huge power output and have incredible density, but are also the most dangerous and least durable of lithium chemistries. Totally inappropriate for use in a car, that's for sure. LiPos are what gave Lithium batteries a dangerous reputation.

A123 makes Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries. They are arguably the most durable chemistry of lithium battery and capable of the highest power output, though their energy density is not as good as some other chemistries. The only reason those engineers would be valuable would be if Apple intended to actually

The scariest thing about DC drivers is that when they complain about people not knowing how to drive in the rain, if you ask them specifically, they are upset that they DO slow down when the weather is bad. The Beltway can only keep up with traffic volume if everyone tailgates at 70mph, so by-god we do that on black

I agree. At some point the EPA testing will catch up and reveal that turbos really aren't as efficient as the current testing makes them look. Turbos were big in the '80s also, then we had a 20 year drought.

Wow, this is a strong contender for my (wife's) next car. Cheap, wagon, turbo and diesel options. Unfortunately I will probably have to go with the DSG since she isn't too hip on manuals, any word on reliability of the VW DSG?

Actually the government keeps them underwater on purpose. USPS would be profitable if it weren't for draconian accounting rules related to their retirement benefits that no other organization in the public or private sector is held to.

I won't hold my breath for all the people saying BMW copied Kia's Rondo design, even though that is exactly what would happen if the situation was reversed.

I doubt that will work. As long as the electronics are there, they are probably awake and talking.

Just looked at the options list, couldn't find anything I had to have. Only things I might pop for would the aluminum trim in the interior. The base interior looks how I'd like it, don't like heated seats, don't want a giant screen in my console. $85k out the door sounds fantastic.

Sounds better to say it's from the GTS than the S?
