It doesn't really work that way with electric cars. A hot motor might be a bit less efficient, but as long as you drive it conservatively it will still have good range.

Hence why he quoted frivolous.
Lucky you. CarMax has 2 right now.
Show me a Saleen tune that increases mileage and performance at the same time.
I can assure you that people thought the end was nigh because of EFI. Back in the early 80's most people didn't even have a computer, reprogramming a chip seemed impossible. So it seems with battery tech now, but it will get easier.
Really? A highly tuned engine gets the same number of miles per tank as a factory one?
A motor could be re-wound to get different characteristics. Batteries can be added or cooled to allow higher outputs. We need to look at this like EFI. When it came out, everyone lamented the end of tuning. It just took some time for tuners to really figure it out and now there is no shortage of tuning potential for…
FIAT screwed up their re-entry to the US market by having laughable dependability. They reinforced the fix-it-again-tony stereotype instead of taking the opportunity to squash it. Alfa Romeo still has a chance, but only if they concentrate on quality and stick to the higher end and enthusiast markets where people…
Electric motors do have a distinctive noise, it sounds like a high RPM turbine. It isn't super loud like an ICE, but they do make an interesting sound.
They should make the side pipes battery-pods. Easy to swap during your track day, plus you can still burn your leg on them after a few hot-laps.
It will be tough since 1 and 10 are mutually exclusive, as well as 2 and 8. I think 8 is the absolute limit unless you find a truck that rolls coal with ironic environmental activism stickers.
I spy, with my little eye, a Porsche 944 at 2:51.
Subaru SVX. 90's crazy sport coupe with no manual option and tiny roll-down windows.
The crazy part is that that was less acceleration than it would have been launching the car under its own power.
Neutral: Should we be worried about subprime auto loans?

I am feeling pretty good about being a car enthusiast that is also an electrical engineer. My current project car is 30 years old and even that has required me to tap my electronics knowledge (and high-end soldering equipment at work). The good news is that electric motors are very reliable, fairly easy to rebuild,…

Way of the future, or assholes who undermine a system that's been in place for years and play dirty with competitors?
Just based on specs the Frontier Crew is still a pretty good value. I guess it all depends on how the interior is, since the Frontier's is plastic-fantastic.
