Um, yeah, actors pretend to be things they aren't. But fight scenes tend to be a lot more convincing and entertaining when they are made by people who can actually, ya know, fight.

Given his track record, saying Jonathan Liebesmann is directing instead of Bay probably isn't the best way to restore people's confidence in this film.
Feldman, not Haim.
Are you high? What the hell does that even mean?
I wish they had gone with actors who had actual martial arts training for the turtles. I have a hard time believing that his guy is going bring much physicality to the role.
Obviously, #2 is a direct result of #10. You spend that much time running, you're going to work up a heck of an appetite.
Sturgeon's Law: 90% of everything is crap. I'm a hug fan of animation in general, and anime in particular, because unlike American animation, anime actually includes shows and movies that are made for adults. But there's no denying that for every Cowboy Bebop or Ghost in the Shell or Perfect Blue, there are dozens…
Yeah, pretty much. Well, this and Yoko Kanno.
Are you talking about "Grounded" or "Earth One?"
Wait, why am I asking? The answer's the same either way.
I only saw Dredd last week, and I hate myself for not seeing it in theaters. Such a great movie. Karl Urban gave one of the most charismatic performances of last year without even showing his face.
And like Hugo Weaving, he owned the shit out of the role. His deadpan delivery had me constantly cracking up throughout the movie.
Year One is definitely the template for Batman Begins. The Dark Knight may have been influenced by The Long Halloween, but it also draws a LOT of its ideas from The Killing Joke.
Wow, that's a great quote. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah, Blade Runner really does screw the pooch when it comes to understanding the point of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. It does manage to still work on its own terms, by showing that at least some of the replicants are much more empathetic than the ones in the book, and the visuals make it an amazing viewing…
Okay, to be honest, I didn't realize what other work he had done and had to look up his name for my previous post. But the phrase "Trainspotting in the Sprawl" managed to stick with me because it so perfectly summed up what I loved about Neuromancer.
Idunno, Joseph Kahn's proposal of a Neuromancer adaptation as "Trainspotting in the Sprawl" seems pretty damn perfect to me.
Well, maybe if you consider The Dark Knight to be a loose adaptation of The Killing Joke....
Oh god, that is a truly horrific thought.
Idunno, I think I'd rather have the bat-shit lunacy of this than the crushing blandness of Superman Returns.
You gotta give Chick-Fil-A credit. When most people talk about wanting to preserve traditional Biblical marriage, they usually just stop at hating gays. But here Chick-Fil-A is actually expanding it to promoting all sorts of Old Testament creepiness. So good on them for that.
