I agree completely. That free “money” I got, was locked into and only of value in the Steam ecosystem. It’s not cash, it’s credit. If you offered me cold hard money instead, I would be even more delighted. Especially as a active proponent of the resale market in general.
Exactly. We’ve had the good and the bad, and that was without NFT’s and the “solutions” they bring, like artificial scarcity and “ownership”.
Holy crap, I’m only halfway through this video and this would’ve been the best video game ever. I'm even more sad now.
I know I’m shouting at clouds with this, being as we are already so deeply entrenched in “points” or fake currency systems, that it’s way too late to turn back now. But Microsoft Points were my first experience with it, and I think they were one of the earlier mainstream examples that made it popular. I will always be…
I didn’t really consider that and it’s something completely missing mention in my point but so obviously there. That CSGO is a game that has transcended time and will always be popular. But should we take a look at the player numbers for some recent Ubisoft live service FPS, say like Hyper Scape? Oh... oh. Or maybe…
Yeah, why I’d expect some well argued point after their simplistic defence of the $70 game pricing, I do not know.
It’s like the most distorted version of Steve Jobs’ “they don’t know what they want till you give it to them “. Except it’s “they don’t want it, but we’ll make them need it”.
“But they don’t get it for now.”
Dear CDProjektRed,
Came here specifically to post this video, just to remind people of the wasted potential that this “game” could’ve been. I still want to know what the hell happened with it and I definitely still want what this trailer offers, so freaking bad.
I guess you could consider it a little like “dogfooding”. Which is using the products you work on to work on those products. A good example is people working at Google using gmail etc.
I’m afraid I’m with Nintendo on this one. If I made a super wholesome IP and someone modded it to fit some twisted culture norm (killing for fun), I’d react similarly and go scorched Earth.
Seriously milking this for as much as you can at this point. What the flying duck do you think they're going to do? Make them PlayStation exclusive??? Jesus H Christ.
I shouldn’t have to come to the comments for “the correct self explanatory (and precedented) take” (which I of course already know) but after 37 separate articles saying absolutely bloody nothing, that really could have been a single evolving article, that’s exactly what happened. Thank you.
When one gigantic behemoth in question is accused of rape and what is tantamount to manslaughter, as well as their CEO concealing this and threatening people’s life and livelihoods to conceal it... and the other gigantic behemoth had a party with sexy female dancers once years ago...
Yeah, I’ve talked about this before irl. Anime, games, podcasts have fantastic voice actors that know how to do their job without turning it into a pantomime. But dubs? I think it’s intentional, it has to be. That’s the only conclusion I can come to. That it’s just how it has been done for so long that Netflix think…
That joke is deep... deep state amirite?
GeForce Now?
I mostly know it from the negativity surrounding the fact that it “censored” certain words and just generally is Chinese. That’s enough to court controversy these days.
