I’m sure I must have had brushes with it in the past, due to my love of foreign cinema but I cannot for the life of me remember and you really think I would. It’s... memorable, to say the least!

This one is a lot more of an acquired taste I guess, mixing much more modern pop music with rock and rap, but the Chinese Opera influences are obvious and integral. I’ve come to really love this song among many others partner listens to very often.

My first real brush with Beijing Opera (possibly a high I’ll struggle to top) was “Farewell, My Concubine”. A devastatingly beautiful, sad and contemplative film. The opening to first quarter of Crysis is so bloody good. It’s Metal Gear Solid one minute, Last of Us the next. Then it’s... well shoot the exponentially bigger aliens. I still have yet to play through the entire game and even the first two games. I hate Crysis 2 is a standout and the first Crysis is basically a meme…
