Back in the day if you bought a Golf or Jetta in Texas (or anywhere in the Southwest) the first thing you did was replace the thermostat with one that would open at a cooler temp so your car wouldn’t constantly overheat.

You forgot to call him a “pedo guy.”

Hopefully the oil pressure problem isn’t too hard to sort out. Looking forward to updates on the conversion. Since it’s not a “skoolie” that raises the question: What’s the slang for city-bus conversion RV?

Nothing says “true apology” like immediately following the apology with “if” or “but.”

First Gear: “Might be hard to come by” ?? They’ve been hard to come by for a few months. We’re driving a new-to-us 2017 Honda CR-V because we couldn’t afford a similarly-aged Outback in our town. New inventory was at a trickle, putting pressure on the used Subie market.

Must be sad to be so angry.

As many a grandma says here in Texas: bless your heart.

I, too, was born a basic white man. I’m a middle aged and overweight, too. I say this with the most sincerity: Fuck yourself with a saguaro cactus.

Some GM designer: “gotta work this bumper in, just make it look like the Vega, it’ll be fine.”

You don’t like that beautiful US-spec front bumper?

I stopped reading the words when I got to “force’s” with an unnecessary apostrophe. The pictures are cool though.

Even shorter answer: Jeep.

Is there a site where disgruntled right-leaning Jalopnik readers congregate? Please share, it should be fun to visit!

You got power locks/windows, leather, premium sound, dual-zone climate controls? You get treated like a car. Aftermarket lift kits should require inspection and an extra registration fee.

Is your opinion not to be criticized when we find it idiotic?

I live in a new development. I see a lot of dually and jacked up trucks. Mostly driven by guys who park them, grab their tool box/bag and hit the work site. There’s a crew of 3 guys whose job is to go around in a Bobcat and haul the trash to the roll-off dumpsters a couple blocks away. The only thing they use their

And that dually probably daily-drives one person to and from an office, and gets to tow something maybe twice a year.

So, again, not victim-blaming. Imagine the truck is instead a bag full of the amount of cash it takes to buy the truck.

It’s an electric motor that looks like an outboard.  That lake prohibits gas-powered boats, and wakes, under most circumstances. Those vintage rental boats can only manage 4.5 mph top speed.

Lady Bird Lake prohibits gas-powered boats, and wakes. It’s a tiny electric motor disguised as an outboard. Top speed of those boats is 4.5 mph.
