Paying settlements out of pension funds would be illegal/unconstitutional in a lot of states.  Just fire the dang police chiefs and senior cops. No legislation involved.

Same here- I was a newbie at a bike shop and hadn’t seated the bead properly and part of the tube pooched out. Thought I was gonna be out of a job but everybody just laughed after the fright wore off.

Used to be a red Ford pickup in my old neighborhood. It had a nicely-airbrushed a beach scene on the tailgate - a scene which included a red pickup truck. On the tailgate appeared to be a beach scene mural, with a red truck on the beach.
