Said CJA:

Well, if they ever decide to remake that old clunker Z.P.G. they should probably borrow some of the weird stuff from this film, add it into the remake, and maybe it'll be a decent film by building it out of two other movies that ha-

Glad to see some love for MAN IN THE WHITE SUIT. I was very young when someone first suggested this to me, a kid for whom STAR TREK had been the end-all and be-all of SF until then (and a few years before STAR WARS was released; so no we are *not* having that discussion right now, thank you...), and it opened my

Sad to say, but I've had a number of major disagreements with people over BRAZIL. Folks I'd be with to see it, both genre fans and those who wouldn't care to watch such fare, have looked at me funny when I start to say nice things about Gilliam's pic. Because it's so dark and trippy, it's a tough sell for the best

And this appearance on THE BIG BANG THEORY didn't rate? I'm not saying which half of the list it should have been on; hell, it could have gone either way, but still...

Did anyone else catch this from the above, quoted in abbreviated form here:

Yes, someone is going to say "The cake is a lie;" it's obvious.

It's a good thing it's all snazzed up like that, because it allows you to wait out a zombiepocalypse or nuclear attack for a few months easy.

OK, you had me with Tiger Lily the Amish ninja; and from there it just got wilder...

Now when they said NSFW, I absolutely assumed that *this* would be on the list. Have to say, I'm a little disappointed that this didn't qualify...

Now when they said NSFW, I absolutely assumed that the breast from EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT SEX... that skiefer1 posted the image of would be on the list. Have to say, I'm a little disappointed that this didn't qualify...

Funny, when I met Alan Parsons in 1999, he didn't have his blue aura/astral projection thing going around him then...

I might have been more impressed with WotW:G if they hadn't made some big anachronistic mistakes: at the 0:30 mark, we see the ruins of the Chrysler Building, which wouldn't be built until 15 years after the film was set, and most likely never have been built in an environment they describe.

I stand corrected: Underoos are NOT he creepiest things you can wear under your clothes...

It's interesting reading these comments now, in light of Strapel having just retracted his paper...

Well, time to get started on praising Jesus of Borg; may I suggest:

OK, does anyone REALLY think that given a chance, Seth MacFarlane's version of COSMOS isn't going to have an episode like this mixed in the batch...?

I can appreciate that. As you surmised, yes, there is an age difference between us; I remember being a really, really big fan of LAND OF THE GIANTS when it first came out as young'un. The first time I saw it as an adult, it was... embarrassingly painful, to put it mildly...

Geeze, you'd think after being shaken, flooded and nuked for 30 seconds on high, the last thing Japan would want would be to be boiled...

Not to be that person...
