I finished Torment: Tides of Numenera this week with my snow day. I found it to be a compelling game that made me interested in the world a lot more than the tabletop game's vague "weird for the sake of weird" ethos did. I wouldn't describe it as "fun" since the combat and crisis stuff wound up being kind of annoying

These are some pretty good recommendations. Anna Syvertsson's comics put a smile on my face and I am grateful for that.

I've been working on Torment: Tides of Numenera as a Strong-Willed Glaive Who Masters Defense. It's a good game with good concepts. I feel like the combat is balanced to be really difficult just to force you into the Labyrinth more often- which is cool the first time you come back and your enemies react to you coming

I don't think it has as much of an impact as in a D&D focused game, but it does have an effect on your starting ability pools- generally speaking, a Glaive would focus on Might (or Speed) a Jack would focus on Speed and a Nano would focus on Intellect. Intellect tends to come up in dialogue more often and it's a

I'm going to be playing Tides of Numenera or Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel in couch co-op with my roommate (or Borderlands 2 solo if he's not around and I feel like a game that doesn't require a ton of reading).

I found that you have to kind of min-max a lot in Wasteland 2 if you want things to be manageable. The system is pretty wonky.

Yeah. There are other nerds still working to keep Planescape alive in the tabletop games, but a lot of it comes down to fan devotion.

I'm looking forward to getting into this tonight. The Mac version wasn't up for early access play, so I'm going in nearly unspoiled.

I've heard that too and it does put things into perspective with all of the Drifters coughing up blood and all the mechanical body parts in the requisite Evil Robot Factory.

What's it like being attractive and popular?

Nah, it's an anime- the third bubble on the nerd venn diagram that isn't Star Trek or Star Wars.

I haven't used any mods, but I've been doing the Blind Bruiser's tasks and running Sphinxstone. I think I've just seen enough of the core game to get sick of it.

I also picked up Borderlands Handsome Collection for PS4, mostly for couch co-op with my roommate. This is the third format in which I have purchased this game.

After seeing Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind last weekend, I started up Hyper Light Drifter again and this time I'm going to beat it! I'm at the final boss right now and struggling with it a little, but I'll get it in time. The graphic style is awesome and I like the gameplay a lot even though I'm pretty bad at it:

Our next Wiki Wormhole: Hollywood Super-Schlongs!

Glad to hear that. I backed it on Kickstarter and then forgot about it. And the early access build is PC only so I need to wait until the street date to start playing.

I gave up on the series on Book 4 I think, but Deadhouse Gates is one of the best fantasy novels I've ever read.

The first few hours of Dead Space are nerve-wracking but after you've learned how the game thinks, you'll come to anticipate the dirty tricks it's trying to pull. And after the plasma cutter is upgraded enough, the enemies lose some of their menace.

I just started up Darkest Dungeon again, glad to see they made some adjustments- I probably never would have finished the game if it stayed at 80 hours long.

I've been bouncing around with games so far. I want to finish off Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition but I have bad memories of Durlag's Tower and it's annoying trap garbage. But maybe this time I'll be a little more prepared since I have a better party than when I was thirteen. I've also been running around Skyrim again,
