Just oh-so-minor discomfort. You cannot rub your eyes, you have to wear an eye shield when you sleep for the first 24 hours, and you must return for a checkup the next day and a week later.

Medicare covers cataract procedures and the basic intraocular lenses. I paid for the next level up of lenses.

I’ve worn glasses since 1964, when my nearsightedness was diagnosed. I still need to wear glasses, as I couldn’t afford the top level intraocular lenses needed to fully correct my nearsightedness. However, my astigmatism has been virtually cured.
