Negotiable. If you’re going to get a 20 year old German car, this would probably be the one to get. With proper maintenance, these cars can go double that mileage. And it looks to be very clean. I don’t think it’s NP, but not ND. $10K should take it.

Normally a 20 year old German car would be a ND from me, but at this price — for this kind of performance — I think the ask is just about worth the gamble. It’s still a close call, though, and I think for me it would come down to the vibe I got from the seller.

The even trickier part about it is that as it sits the car is probably not something you should drive.  I’d be very wary of any rubber parts or fluids that haven’t moved or circulated much in 20+ years.  You’d pretty much have to be buying this to park it just like the previous owner, which is a thing I guess, just

Yeah, I hate when they do that. At least you can tick the box to “search titles only” and that gets rid of most of that crap.

I bought my 2001 GTS on Craigslist in 2017. Sapphire with silver stripes.

Right? He could’ve just invested the money in almost any index fund and made out like a bandit.

...even the brake fluid looks original! Yikes.

What the hell was we saving it for? I did not spend a lot of time digging into this, but it looks like a Viper ran you about $71K or $72K in 2002. (Yeah, this one is special, but I didn’t bother to spec this trim package.) That would be $123K in current day dollars. This was a stupid investment. Whoever bought it

I waited for Mercedes. Was not disappointed. The verdict - No Dice.

I mean height might be an issue...

these cars have none of the expected benefits - (a standard issue Corolla gets equal or better mileage) and all of the expected drawbacks. Hard no dice.

I say modestly as the Brabus ForTwo maintains the standard model’s 70 horsepower turbo triple engine. It does have remapped shift points for the five-speed auto manual...

If this was the third gen with the DCT and 20 extra horses I’d be seriously interested.

IT’S NOT FOR EVERYONE BUTI could see a very limited use case for something like this: as an alternative to a fancy golf cart for someone living in a retirement area (The Villages?) or someone that wants to tow this dinghy behind their RV. So if that’s you, nice-enough price for something clean and unique. So

Might be fun to see people’s reactions if I were driving that thing - at 6'8", I doubt it’s gonna be a comfortable ride at all...

But otherwise, oh hell no.

Paging Mercedes Streeter. Ms Mercedes, your NP may be here.

Just no. If I want to blow coins on a pretentious dressed-up version of a pedestrian minicar, I’d go for an Aston-Martin Cygnet. At least then I’d get the posh appointments I’d expect in a half-pint luxury ride, with Toyota reliability. Not this. No Dice.

Obvious joke is obvious, but:  I see collaborative possibilities between Brabus and Tata Motors.

Rob - are you going to do the year-end recap like last year?  Can’t wait to see the results!
