First thing, it’s not political pressure they’re concerned about it. It’s legal pressure. They are limiting their exposure to liability. You may not like that, but it’s a reasonable stance for a business to take given the circumstances.

Right. Talk about placing blame on people for things they have very little control over. Derzis ran the clinic for years in a very hostile state and was forced to close and then gets blamed for not wanting to continue operating in said hostile state. That take is complete bullshit. And insinuating that she chose to

I don’t see how the states have standing in this. Student loans are administered and owned by a federal department. There’s no reasonable argument to make for them having standing to challenge this.

Hair options in games have just generally been bad basically forever.

Even though Queen Elizabeth led in a post-colonial era, the country still had connections to a colonial past that affected Asian and African colonies.”

Based on the picture for the article I’d say she’s been busy after putting her phone number up in a bathroom stall.

The New Yorker Obamas comic. It was clearly satire meant to show the exaggerated response to Obama on the right, the quote from the author that accompanies the image pretty much says as much.

Some of the comics selected are clearly satire making fun of racist people. There is a difference between that and actual racism.

Two things. First, as far as we know she wasn’t wrongfully detained. She admitted that she had brought an illegal substance to somewhere it was illegal. That means they had every right to detain her. She broke the law in the country she was in.

I mean, it’s not like a gender studies degree will get you a good job, but sure.

First of all, regardless of your stance on the personhood of a fetus, the argument being made for release is ridiculous since the fetus isn’t being detained. The fetus is living in the space in which it is supposed to live, the location of the mother is irrelevant to that. It’s not like this hasn’t come up before,

Whenever someone makes a public apology and says they’re learning what they really mean is that they are being told to apologize to save their job.

They aren’t banning healthcare in general. Trans youth can still receive health care. They aren’t banning gender affirmative therapy even. All they are banning is medical interventions, which are also being banned in several countries because there’s just no good research on the efficacy or long term effects of those

I’m not black, but I’m not white. I’m aboriginal. You know a population that experienced an actual genocide. I’m from Canada, why don’t you go look up what residential schools are and realize how good you have it. Dumb ass.

Yes. Heaven forbid people actually care about accurate information or the truth. That’s terrible.

Right... a massive multi year conspiracy between all of their neighbours and everyone in the Sheriffs office clearly makes sense.

Funny to call it an ableist meltdown of the media when clearly the speculation was correct. He’s barely started the job and he already can’t hack it.

There’s no way 1% of the population identifies as asexual. You’re source for that an unsourced comment from asexuality.org. I’m sure there’s no bias there whatsoever.

Or you can just cheat and get a vibrating tongue ring.

Most of this seems to stem from the fact that the signatories just don’t like the fact that any opposing viewpoint is being presented by the paper. The NYT has published literally hundred of articles that support trans rights and people are upset that there have been a handful of articles and opinion pieces that are
