I moved into an all electric house. I hated my electric stovetop, and quickly went over to an induction range. MUCH better. I still miss gas though. I’m still learning the ins and outs of the induction stuff.

I’m sorry Dennis I can’t let you do that.

I am stunned that the people who finally cracked real, working AI are the good people at Samsung. And instead of trumpeting this success from the rooftops they kept it under wraps so as to debut it in their... ovens?

The takeaway here is that whatever algorithm the Studios are using is broken. People want to watch good movies regardless of month.

“For one thing, quesadillas are meant to be a digital exclusive”

Watched it yesterday. This movie is more like a black mirror episode than another version of Child’s play.

Overperforms what? Expectations? Who sets those expectations?

Animation is very good, direction is jaw-dropping, especially in its very complex action set pieces. I was genuinely amazed.
On the other hand, the writing is an understated mess.
I mean the basic story is alright, but the way they get to plot points is convoluted, characters have little to no depth and the plot

Why not “lean in” on this and just serve people what they want to eat?

This is stupid, both the hack and the backlash. Like ok ordering an onlin only item in person sucks, BUT, making a quesadilla takes way less time than a burrito. Lay tortilla flat add cheese and protien to one half, or veggies per the “hack” fold in half put into whatever the heating it up this is and done. It adds

I actually like Henry Cavill but I am glad they are moving on from him as Superman because while he is a good actor, the Superman he portrayed sucked and I had not interest in continuing to see him. That is mostly Snyders doing but it would be hard to separate from those early bad movies.

Sure that sounds good on paper but sometimes the “politics” is less about high level execs jocking for position and its low level execs just trying to get credit for the work they are doing. The Rock pitches to the boss and the boss says yes may sound great but then the Rocks pitch has to become a movie(or series of

Yeah, WB execs are the devil, look what they did to Batgirl! until they leak stuff about the Rock at which point they’re a valued and trust source?

In my (fervent) imagination the tipping point for the Rock in this saga was him campaigning for the Black Adam vs Superman film saying “And then I kick Cavill’s ass! Yes, Black Adam wins! What? Of course I win! Who is Superman? The public has been waiting 70 years for BLACK ADAM!”

It plays into the thesis of the Rock being out of touch and more interested in self-promotion than making a good film. Sure, there will be plenty of drinking age red carpet attendees, but the vodka’s target demographic (21+) is not the same as the film’s target demo (teens + families).

I started to watch Black Adam the other night and became very unimpressed with where the story was headed after about 15 minutes. I turned it off and will not return to it. WB can make all the Black Adam sequels they want...I won’t be a viewer.

Yeah I know he’s all about “the hustle” but he really needs to take a step back.  I’m sure it’s hard for big-time actors to turn down jobs, especially considering how short-lived a career in Hollywood can be, but sometimes it’s necessary.  I remember thinking Chris Pratt was great after GOTG, but then he was seemingly

When will the Rock heel-turn in the real world? His ego and carefully manufactured “good guy” persona starts to crumble when receiving ANY criticism or pushback.

or you know just embrace the fact that you’re in your 50s and it’s ok to not be making the same action movies you used to. See Arnold’s career.

Mildly sad about Astrid & Lilly. It wasn’t a spectacular show. It wasn’t BSG or Farscape. But it was different and I like that SyFy seems to be trying to get back to original, scripted, live action, genre stuff at least a little.
