I imagine it's sort of like calling out racism. If you're trying to argue with someone espousing racist views, you have to be careful never actually to call them a racist, because the moment you do the conversation is over. Likewise, you can't call someone a liar without shutting down the dialog. Not that failing

Thank you for actually crediting KC Green. That almost never happens.

Yeah, that issue right there is what forces me to jump to the book's defense. I'm fine with people not liking the book. It's just that it seems nearly all of the people who don't like it have to insinuate that either the people reading the book are only doing it ironically, or else they're lacking in geek-cred, i.e.

To expand a bit on @disqus_BenGrimm:disqus's comment, she always had some popularity, but mostly as a joke. She was literally a joke character, but at one point the Marvel cards or guide or something listed all her stats at maximum, effectively putting her on the level of some of the cosmic beings like Galactus, or

That's fair. I like Henderson's art, but I can understand how some wouldn't. Anyway, I don't have any problem with people not liking the series, it just gets tiring having to deal with a constant barrage of claims that "real" comic geeks don't read this series, that it's only for little girls, or fake geek girls, or

Honestly, I never really found his Dinosaur Comics to be to my taste. But I think he struck gold with Squirrel Girl.

I enjoyed it as well. It took me a couple months before I realized it had been cancelled, though. At first I thought maybe it just didn't make it into my pull file, but then I learned it was cancelled :(

The character started out as a "quirky…annoying humblebrag asshole." North has managed to make something worthwhile out of that moronic concept.

We're comic-geeking wrong, apparently.

While I agree that the character herself isn't anything special, this book is amazing, largely due to Ryan North's writing. It's hilarious. And despite @JonGorski:disqus's claim of a one-joke premise, North manages to do quite a lot with her. The day North stops writing this book, though, I'm done.

And butts!

Who'd have thought that xenophobia would be what would finally get funding for NASA?

A 6?! Dude, she's carrying way too much weight to be more than a 1.

He said 29, not 16.

I think you're right. I'll be in the corner, thinking about what I've done.

Get off my lawn!

Which one? The original, or the recent remake of the "Thong Song" video?

Well, some still have completely idiotic viewpoints. Just not necessarily bigoted ones.

Sadly, I never watched the show while it was on the air. I mean, it was a fucking musical, how was I supposed to know it was amazing? Now I feel constant guilt, as though I bear partial responsibility for its premature cancellation.

There are plenty of idiots who aren't bigots, as well. Granted, they tend to be much more enjoyable idiots to be around, so sometimes we don't even realize they're idiots.
