yeah, it felt like they really wrapped up The Whole Deal with the world at the end there. I was (am?) kinda hoping the next one would be another Kojima attempt at another Fresh Idea, but I won’t say no to more Death Stranding if it shows up.

it’s a game i like a lot more having played it than i did playing it, if that makes sense. like, I still think about it fondly a lot but also did I have “fun” while playing it? mostly “yes” but also sometimes very much “no”. if you’re not at least kinda vibing with what’s going on by chapter 3, it’s probably not for

Yup. Literally until today I’d still been on Powerlanguage, because I didn’t need to refresh and everyone was complaining about bugs in the port to the NYTs, so I figured, hey, why risk it?

I would put my money on Christmas 2024 or Summer 2025 being the two most likely dates.

I just did my “Nintendo Year In Review” thing and my playtime in 2021 dropped from 599 hours in 2020 to 122 this year, largely because:

also: the art style of windwaker kicks ass! it’s really good and unique! I never understood what was “childish” about it.

I actually finally (i know) beat it for the first time a few weeks ago, which I feel makes me uniquely qualified to answer this question. I had played the first 3 dungeons probably a dozen times in my youth, but always fell off around the Forest Temple and never making it past the Fire.

my very first run into Biome 2 I feel like I almost made it to the biome’s boss. I’ve barely made it halfway since in subsequent runs, and I’ve bounced off of it. The “Save Run” feature was enough for me to consider getting back into it some, but the option of this exploit might seal it.

Yeah even indies have long dev schedules. Golf Story and Hollow Knight both came out in 2017, and their follow-ups are still firmly in the ??? release window.

i’ve actually bought more physical games for my PS5 than I have the entire last generation (if you include the Switch in there too). Scouring Ebay and sales has been a really good way to save on the $70 price tag. I found “Returnal” for ~$50 shortly after launch and just got the PS5 director’s cut Ghosts of Tsushima

I think there are games that mechanically and narratively scale really well across all generations—your Marios, Zeldas, Animal Crossings, Dragon Quests, etc. I’m not sure that Pokemon is one of those games. I do think it’s fair to complain about Sw/Sh as a AAA game. I personally thought it was Just Fine As A Game. But

tell me about it. I bought Pokemon Sword and while playing it i mostly thought “hm, i’m probably a little too old for this”. However, my cousins who are between 5 and 12, absolutely adored the game and devoured all of it and the DLC. it’s almost like..... the game.... is meant for children? I get chasing the nostalgia

Woof, 35 hours? I played the first Phoenix Wright on my Switch back around Halloween, and while I got through it pretty quickly and broadly liked it, the final chapter had me going “good lord i just need to get through this”. I even looked up how to cross-examine a witness because I was so tired and didn’t want to

I guess because of how recent Royal was released, but P4G was released in November 2012 and P5 was announced the following November. P5R was released World-Wide in March 2020, so a September 2021/Spring 2022 teaser for P6 wouldn’t be insane. But yeah, I am not expecting the ability to play this game for another 2-3

I loved Death Stranding. I blasted through it about 2 months ago for the first time. That being said, I don’t think I’m going to be down for a replay, but I do know people who replay it pretty frequently even without added content, so yeah, there’s a market.

More Returnal and Spider-Man. I don’t think I’ll really be able to “beat” either of those before my wife and I head to her parents house for a couple of weeks, but I should be able to make some good progress. I’m hitting a wall in the second biome--I got close to the boss on my first real attempt at it, but since then

maybe not as much as recently, as i actually have a friend coming to visit this weekend! We’re all vaccinated, so he’s gonna come out and spend saturday/sunday in the new house. I’m pretty excited. But tonight, after knocking out some yardwork, I’ll probably keep up my Returnal/Spider-Man Remastered combo. Returnal is

i actually somehow got really lucky. After a few weeks of playing around and seeing if I could find one in stock by checking in during a re-stock, the first morning of seriously being in the mindset of “if I get one of these in my cart, i’m pulling the trigger” I found one from Wal-Mart. I actually had the best

exactly. I got my PS5 in January and, since I never owned a PS4, just the ability to rip through some classics from the last generation was worth the price. Now I’m playing Returnal, and man, that sure feels like a next-gen game. Was it an unnecessary $500 at the time for next-gen gaming? sure, but that doesn’t mean

Hori “accidentally” said that 1 & 2 are also in the works, so it’s not insane to assume 4-7 could get there eventually, too.
