The problem is that ESPN is going to exploit the fuck out of it, just as they do with anything remotely interesting. Instead of showing it occasionally, they inject it into the narrative and in some cases turn it into a bigger narrative than the game itself. I’m an LSU grad, and even I’m tired of every LSU softball

They absolutely are. Look at the Mets. We get years of “look at how terrible they are” posts. Then they make it to the World Series and we get nothing but “BEST PITCHING STAFF EVAR” posts. It’s like this with all New York teams. They lose and it’s all “our New York team is SOOOOOOOO bad.” Then when they win they flip

Kristaps had 3 nice games in a row and Deadspin tried to turn him into foreign Tim Tebow. And remember Linsanity?

Ask yourself this: if the Knicks played this brand of basketball, had the 2nd best record in the East, and made it to the conference finals, what would Deadspin’s narrative be? I mean, they have already made more Kristaps posts this season alone than they have made about the Raptors since their first day in the NBA.

It probably won’t hurt NBC anyway. They’re probably tape-delaying the gymnastics finals until November Sweeps anyway.

Even ESPN just assumes that ESPN shows the Yankees for every single MLB broadcast

So it’s the sports equivalent of attending a Donald Trump rally.

The topic they are discussing is more troublesome for me. ESPN is more interested in rumors and gossip-mongering than they are about the NBA Finals contender he currently plays for, or even trying to acknowledge that the Toronto Raptors are an actual professional basketball team.

Cool—more teams that will never be on ESPN unless they’re playing the Yankees.

The Orioles won the game but NEW YORK HERO!

Your take is the easy one, but it takes two to tango—especially for a university whose biggest face for better or for worse is Johnny Douchebag. This guy is a five-star QB and soon to be the face of your program. Do you really want a flake who treats commitments as a means of currency on social media? The team’s down

The website that mercilessly eviscerates people like Rick Reilly, Peter King and George Will just commissioned an 11,000 word article about the owner of the Knicks and his band.

It’s already basically happening, but how soon before networks just make side deals with individual teams within leagues and just say screw the rest of the league.

If only Roger Goodell had brought out 2 or 3 dozen more “Walter Payton Men of the Year” during the second round of last weekend’s draft, this might not have happened or we might have been so swayed by their spin that we might have ignored it.

I really think the NFL publicity department bases their entire marketing strategy on “Triumph of the Will”

I thought the Marines came out there because one of the biggest NFL sponsors pays them to do it because they are trying to sell car insurance to veterans.

Nobody is arguing that ESPN has no right to show the Yankees. I’m arguing that they should stop acting they’re their fucking flagship station. I mean, at this point they’re going to shamelessly use their biggest baseball program of the week to make you hate-watch A-Rod instead of even making an attempt to cultivate an

No. I hate unapologetic propaganda. Repeat the lie until it becomes the truth. Maybe I hate what Capitalism has become—shameless and ethically bankrupt.

Do you know why everyone who actually cares about sports hates ESPN?

Speaking of a lack of creativity, how about ESPN still showing the 4th worst team in baseball—a team that hasn’t won a postseason game since 2012—4 nights a week?
