Am I the only one who is ‘meh’ on drifting?

Tesla has used this excuse several times before. All the company has to do to meet the lower end of its guidance is to deliver 68% more cars than they did during the first two quarters. When that doesn’t happen, we’ll get to again here about the wonderful story of how many cars are on their way to their excited owners!

When the cars can fully drive themselves there won’t be problems delivering them to customers.

Indeed, Tesla’s autopilot system is statistically safer that a human driver.

do you have a link to NBC San Jose video?

i read that the autopilot associated with the death was a beta version and had to be specifically activated by the driver. I have a real issue with this: it’s not just the guy using the beta version that can die/get hurt if the beta version fails, but also people in the vicinity that car. Those people don’t get a

Even with the woefully incompetent SEC you’re absolutely right, when even a slight question exists-disclose.

To be clear, Tesla making calls like this is super risky. Material is in the eye of the buyer, not seller. Always better to air on the side of disclosing all. Here you have a business that’s burning cash like crazy and needs that money to survive. So they are in a really bad position to say “oh yes a defect in our

Cut automobile deaths in half from your autopilot system? That’s a really bold claim, Elon. Something that surely can't be substantiated. Maybe in theory...

She probably was only at the beginning of her career at the massive company called BBC, and didn’t want to jeopardise that.

I’ve worked with lousy engineers like those - ones who hugely overestimate their ability, have contempt for their end users, and don’t even understand the point of the project in the first place.

Okay, so basically it’s another non story. Thanks!

Can someone explain how it is significant that she was on a bike-share bike vs her own bike?

Seriously - how did a guy with that voice get so rich working in radio?

“It’s just a prank, bro!”

Does anybody actually watch this show, or is it just Seinfeld and his friends watching it and promoting it? My guess is that the writer of this Jalopnik entry knows Jerry, or works for his publicist. Thank you for yet another notification that the show still exists, but we all know it shouldn’t.

Yep, Tesla’s system is not much more in practice than adaptive cruise control + lane keeping, but they definitely don’t shut down people who call it self-driving (as in this very article).

The problem that I see is that several online reviewers, like EveryDay Driver and MotorTrend, completely play up the “look ma, no hands” angle when they are doing their review. Tesla, in my opinion, has not done enough to say “YOU NEED TO KEEP YOUR HANDS ON THE WHEEL” in their marketing. They are happy to get the free

Based on his youtube video where he states he wasn’t paying attention to the road on a previous trip, and the fact that he ran into a semi without touching the brake pedal, I’d think it’s safe to assume he wasn’t watching the road at all. Which means he wasn’t using the system correctly to begin with. I’m also curious
