It’s not illegal to import an R34 before 2024. The ones that meet the show & display list (99 MNPII Vspecs, 02 mspec nürs, maybe some others) can be converted to OBD-II right now and they’ll be fully federally compliant. Once they’re 21 years old they don’t even need OBD-II.

They’re the best deal out there. My ‘15 Golf TDI easily gets over 45 mpg every tank and I can get over 50 mpg on a tank if I try. All that and it’s still a fun car to drive on the back roads. With a 40 mile each way commute that’s mostly country roads, it’s been awesome.
