You do know, you can get a box mix for Latkes.... No bloody knuckles required. In the age of the internet, it can be delivered to your door, if there is not a large Jewish population in your area that keeps them stocked in your local stores. I know homemade, potatoes are cheap... Meh. I don't eat out much, and if it

If you do set your knife block on fire, take a few pics and upload them. A quick search did not turn up any knife blocks on fire on Google. I fear it is an underserved market..... I have no idea why :)

Check menu, have order ready for server, have back up snack/meal ready, take a gluten tester with me, with plenty of test capsules. Have no expectations of eating the restaurant meal... If it passes, it is a bonus.

Scotch. Technically not gluten free, but if distilled correctly, it should be. If that is too risky, wine. We still manage to feed everyone.

No dairy testers yet... But if it is lactose intolerance, take the pills when eating out, in case of the “I forgot” syndrome.

Find a doctor that specializes in allergies. Also, you could be missing things on the FODMAP diet, it happens. Do the food and symptom journal, and look for patterns, and start checking the ingredient lists on the meals 2 to 12 hours before symptoms. Unfortunately, it could be multiple issues, or something trickier

Or bring a gluten tester. Chef-y or fast food, anyone can screw it up or get it right, and if you don’t test, you find out in a couple of hours the hard way.

Gluten free is not more healthy unless you have celiac disease, or issues with FODMAP foods. Most gluten free replacement food have more calories, starches that metabolize quicker, and frequently are higher in sugar and fats. However, these foods can be a part of a balanced diet. If you think you have an allergy or

Hmm. My grandmother was diagnosed in her sixtys, when she was under 100 lbs and six foot tall. It happens. From my experience, it is a variable disease, with more and more issues spaced closer together as the gut gets more and more damaged, and the immune system response gets more severe. But that is just a couple of d

Meh, it can be entertaining. Try a table full of allergies, a vegan, and a vegetarian. That's a holiday meal..... Try to take it with grace, and always have a backup.

I would pay $150,000 to see that family eat the Maserati from bumper to bumper. Maybe with a small side of heartburn.

Homemade is better. Fine. However, I can’t stand it, pass the jelly in a can. And, the canned stuff is great making sandwiches with Turkey and stuffing. So, after Thanksgiving, the canned stuff is gone, and the remains of homemade sits there, until the leftovers get tossed.

Your fun at parties, I can tell.... I try to be a good host, and I know a few vegetarians.

Hard pass. I am allergic to soy.... Now, if you like miso, knock yourself out, just don't serve it up to me.

You can still get that stuffing goey effect with putting some vegetable stock (for the vegetarian) or chicken stock in with the dressing to moisten it. Definitely don’t overdo it, or it is a sad mess.

I have not made stuffing with wheat for years. You can make bread gluten free.....

Favorite birthday meal? Usually a good steak at home with the family. However, I did enjoy a good meal at Dave n Busters for my 32nd birthday, with 31 friends family and co-workers. My birthday is on leap year day, and for a while I tried doing something memorable. By far the most costly dinner (until my wedding), but

My tweek.... use separate dishes and pans. It is a great idea if you can time / size everything right. Too hard for me, rather be able to yank a dish and have it parked and warming if needed.

No, no candy tax here. Ask nicely if you want something, if they say no, no big deal. Now, if they don’t do their chores, run through the house with scissors, and the cat looks slightly singed.... Time for Candy Repo. That will be a $20 fee to unlock the candy, or 20 chores, and the candy goes to neighborhood auction

You want to be Vegan? Be Vegan. Or vegetarian, etc. I have enough problems with food. And no, I am not trying whatever dish you brought to work. I don’t need to be sick because it actually has an allergen in it that will make me sick. Maybe the fresh fruit after I wash it.
