The 2022 GTI S is $850 more than the 2021 GTI S. Not too bad all things considered. The SE sees the biggest price jump by $1,630 and Autobahn goes up by $1,050. The GTI hasn’t been a 25k car since the 2016 model year unfortunately.

Went to visit the Salton Sea back in 2018. Truly felt like I had warped into another reality. The sand was literally carcasses. The surrounding area of the “sea” was decrepit, run-down, and every house looked like there were nefarious actions happening within. Went to the visitor center, though. Was actually kind of…
From VW’s press release:
Could you imagine the good timeline where GM never needed to be bailed out and kill off Saturn and where Americans still cared about small cars? I like to imagine that we would have kept on getting the Astra as a Saturn including this new one. Looks great!
The I-Pace does have fast DC charging capabilities as 100 kW. Still lower than the Mach-E and ID.4 but it’s something. It has a 11 kw AC charger.
This is the right take. Five PHEVs with 20 kWh batteries and 25+ miles of all electric range will be better for the general buying market than one EV with a 100 kWh battery. And don’t forget that that same 100 kWh battery could go a lot further in normal hybrids, seeing as those only have a battery size of around 1-2…
I’m really digging the eccentricities in this car’s styling. I would say I prefer the Tucson’s exterior but that blue and white interior shown here in the Kia looks really great.
I’m really just surprised that the Maverick is actually longer than the Santa Cruz. Visually, I assumed the Mav was going to be shorter.
I really like the updates they made to the interior. The seats, dash, door panels all look great. Did the XF lose its V6 with this refresh? Regardless, I would love to pick one of these up in two years after depreciation has done its worst.
Why do I feel an inexplicable draw towards 1st gen Touaregs? Man the styling has aged well, and the off road features some of them have? Love it!
Isn’t the new Grand Cherokee & Grand Cherokee L based on the Giorgio platform with PHEV variants in the works? If Jeep can shoehorn a battery in this platform, then why can’t Alfa?
Everyone should check out the Ora Good Cat in this video. It seems like a great overall package! I’d also recommend this channel in general, China’s auto market sure is different than our own.
Do we know what the size of the largest battery pack is? And more importantly, how much this and the truck weigh? I would absolutely not want to be the one in an accident with any of these behemoths.
For an EV SUV coming out two years from now, 800V architecture should be standard, especially when the Ioniq 5 and EV6 have it.
It’s very likely that the new Mondeo/Fusion will be this guy:
Didn’t Torch do an article a while ago about which car was the last to be designed with a body-colored B-pillar? Because excepting many full size trucks, I think this one would be it.
For the most part, I agree with this sentiment. But with the incoming redesigned Outlander, it’s basically a Nissan Rogue with a third row, better warranty, and in my opinion, better looks. Not to mention that they’ll probably have more cash on the hood and like COMTNDRVR says, they’ll give anyone credit.
When solid state batteries make their way into production electric vehicles, battery swapping will be largely irrelevant imo. Charging times will be quick enough that the added complexity and standardizations of creating a battery swapping infrastructure will be financially unfeasible.
I was 9 when this 6-Series came out and I absolutely loved it. I even had two die-cast 1:18 models of the thing, one of which I brought to show and tell. Still unashamed in my love for it!
Later this year as 2022 MY.
