Good thing the 2019 Golf is getting the Jetta’s 1.4 turbo then! I suspect it will see a pretty substantial increase in mpg if the Jetta is any indicator.

there are still millions of uninformed and uneducated car shoppers

If you get a FWD 2019 Sportwagen, it will have the new 1.4T 4 cylinder 8-speed auto combo found in the Jetta whereas AWD Sportwagens and Alltracks will soldier on with the 1.8T 4 cylinder 6-speed DSG (or 6-speed manual) combo.

“History and pedigree” is a pretty lame excuse to need to have in a performance car. The performance of the Model 3P is undeniable and at the end of the day on par with the Germans.

That’s for the Performance version though, and is priced on par with the M3 and C63 so not totally crazy.

That’s very interesting and actually makes total sense lol. Glad there’s some common sense left.

No way! Very interesting...

Looking at this Viper’s Carfax, it looks like it’s a Canadian-spec car and was registered in Alberta but the second owner registered it in Ohio. I didn’t think it was possible to do this?

At 203 inches long, this neatly splits the difference between the Explorer at 198 inches and the Navigator SWB at 210 inches. Huge no doubt, but the BOF domestics are larger still (for better or for worst).

Oh man does it look great.

mmm that’s a Civic.

The 2.7 is only available on the LT and higher trims so I doubt we’ll be seeing this engine becoming popular with fleet customers. The 4.3 is still the base engine in the WT trim.

Yeah, don’t hold your breath....

This is the new 2019 Explorer Police Interceptor so let’s hope that Ford won’t repeat that manufacturing defect.

Like I said in my original post, U.S. VWs have been getting their recommended fuel octane lowered to 87. The 3.6 VR6 that’s in the Passat and Atlas? They’re rated to run on 87 (which was not the case when the Passat first came out in 2012). The GTI and GLI? They both got their ratings changed in 2016 and also now speci

The power deficiency almost definitely has to do with U.S. spec Arteons being tested with 87 octane, as VW has been slowly rating all its cars in its lineup to run on lower octane fuel instead of 91. Why we don’t get the DCT, I don’t know and that sucks.

okay, but counterpoint:
