MLS is really only looking at cities that have plans for a soccer-specific stadium. I think at this point only New England plays in football stadium (i could be and probably wrong). Everybody else uses their own stadium.

MLS requires all expansion franchise bids to play in buildings where revenue is controlled by ownership. An existing NFL stadium will never fly, because there is always some other city willing to pay to build a new, purpose-specific facility.

A team that averages 18k in attendance playing in a stadium with a 65k capacity is much worse than just staying in Nippert.

It’s been a quasi-requirement of the MLS bids for the last five years or so. As far as I know there’s no hard and fast rule stating you need one, but they’ve been pushing for all new bids to have a soccer-specific stadium. Trying to bid for an expansion spot without one seems increasingly unlikely.

Agree that the conditions are kind of absurd, but that’s what lots of competitions do when talent gets deep - you have to tighten the margins of error to ensure players can differentiate themselves.

Pull into the intersection. If the intersection is big enough, pull up enough so another car behind you can get in too. That way when the light changes, you don’t screw over the person behind you, and you both make the light.
