Good character. It used to be that shit like this was done because people said it built “good character”. There’s lots of shit in life that builds character. Hard, manual labor. Being honest when lying would be easier. Helping others when you won’t necessarily benefit from it. All that shit builds character. But this?…

But if you manage to get ahead of the opposition by the end of the third quarter, it’s absolutely essential that you stay ahead of them at the end of the fourth quarter. Too many teams fail to do that, and they’re sorry for it later.

And if you’re down at halftime it’s so important to score more points in the second half than your opponent did in the first. Sometimes you can get away with less but you can’t be sure.
