But Conan did suck for a long time before he figured things out. Dave was great at NBC from the start.

It wasn't the same but I thought the first few CBS years were great. He was still heavily involved with the show and doing the things that made him great, particularly on location bits. Plus, he seemed to actually enjoy doing it. That led to an energy from him that hadn't been there before or since.

I had an awful job during that same time period and Lost was my favorite show. The job made my life hell 24/7 so even though I was a big fan, the thought of Lost still brings up very bad memories and can make me a little ill.
