I feel like I am going to be sick of the requisite edgy-hipster-backlash that this movie will inevitably generate. 

Why are you perplexed? Often times the people who compile the trailers are not the people who made the movie. There are plenty of movies with amazing trailers that turn out to be garbage and vice versa. That’s pretty much been happening since movies became a thing. 

Its not CBS’s fault that the Axanar dipshits tried to use CBS’s leniency to build a whole studio. That was beyond the pale and forced the network's hand. Blame them for ruining the party for everyone else.
