Well, while it's very likely that it DID exist (it's a decorated box. People have been building them for ages and there's no reason to lie about it), we have no physical evidence of it, so it's not exactly an artifact, and it's certainly not comparable to the pyramids. Nit picking, I know.
IMO, the instructions for building the ark, as with many of the instructions in Exodus/Leviticus, are simply way, way too specific for something that was never actually built.
