It's because of misattribution of memory—a cognitive bias where we don't remember specific source memory, but rather the gist of it, or other similar memories. We (late 80's / early 90s babies) remember VHS, and we remember tracking artifacts, but we don't remember the specific occurrence of them on one video.
As a Black man, excuse me while I roll my eyes dubiously at your comments.
It was a spectacular job, but I'm saying it was a job that wasn't needed to propel the story. What I took from last night's episode is that storylines that should've been resolved this season are being deferred until next year for the sake of a battle that, as impressive as it is, did little to move everything along.…
On a technical scale, this episode was great. That 360 shot was one of the best things I've seen on TV in awhile. I think Neil Marshall did a fantastic job showing the scale of the battle, laying of the geography of who's where. And some moments were kick ass — in particular, Dolorous Edd and company releasing that…
The weakest episode in the entire series. Great set pieces, a really nice one-shot pan of the battle at the castle, but there was nothing that justified the entire episode being devoted to this one, anti-climactic battle. It feels like a badly wasted opportunity to me but, surprisingly, I seem to be in the minority.
I think it speaks to George Lucas's short comings that he couldn't recognize how great a line it was though.
Beowulf just saw your response and was like "wait, what?"
I see this reaction a lot and I REALLY don't get it. I was absolutely mesmerized by the scene. I thought it was excellent. Brilliant even. Apparently I'm nearly alone in thinking this, but I find that shocking and surprising. I never would have guessed nearly everyone else thought this fascinatingly played scene…
I don't know why, but everyone seems to misinterpreting Arya's laugh. It was because The Hound dragged her all the way to the Vale for a reward from her Aunt who is now dead. It was not a psychotic break or anything else.
They don;t call him the Red Viper for nothing...
There's no way of knowing.
Don't count out Lviv just yet. You're greatly underestimating Putin's desire to have Russia host the Winter Games twice in an eight-year span.
Yes, rapid burial can only happen in a global flood. No local flood, mudslide, rockslide, earthquake, quicksand, cave-in, or any other lesser disaster could possibly do it.
YES!!!!!!! PUPPETS MOTHERFUCKER!
Sometimes I feel like these "plothole" threads lose sight of the difference between "Conceit" and "Plot".
Are you kidding? Not recognizing Bruce Wayne would be like no-one recognizing Bill Gates. Or Steve Jobs. Or Mark Zuckerberg. With the added benefit of Christian Bale being handsome, so it would be like no-one noticing Bill Gates if he looked like Brad Pitt. Also, Bruce Wayne was a "playboy", so it would be like no-one…
Except that's not how the final movie ended up so it doesn't really matter at this point.
