Well west for me was Colorado, so not too far west, but even in Colorado there were hardly any bugs, even at night, but all of the windows still had screens on them. This is partly why I asked the question.

This article piqued a random thought when it mentions '...enjoying a breeze with the windows open'. Everywhere I have lived (West, Midwest, and the Plains) there have always been screens on windows. Are there areas in the U.S. where window screens are less prevalent? I also seem to remember seeing more screen-less…

I'm looking at buying my first digital SLR camera. I am looking at two entry level models: The Nikon D5100 and the Canon EOS Rebel T3i. My main interests are landscapes, nature/wild animals, motor sports, and bicycle racing... so quite the wide range.
