@goober: Their FAQ says they considered it but research indicated there wasn't enough interest to keep the service running. They didn't want to start charging users, then shut down a few months later.

@ian.nai: I can't make you watch the video, but you're missing the point.

@dlinkwit27: Watch the video. That's a result, not a why.

@davidr521: Agreed, especially when they misspell security as "secutity" twice on the signup page.

@djnrempel: You can create desktop shortcuts for different break lengths with SnapTimer by passing the number of minutes as a parameter, but I can see how having different alarm settings could be useful.

@Jack0205: Oh yeah, portability was one of my other requirements. :)

@lemke: Glad you like it.

@lemke: Cool. SnapTimer for the desktop, Egg Timer for the phone :)

I couldn't find a Windows timer that was keyboard friendly, lightweight and simple to start and stop, so I wrote SnapTimer.

@Marand: Son of a...150WPM? I type 90WPM on a good day. Are you qwerty or dvorak? Any tips on how you got to be so fast?

@Marand: Okay, I can definitely see the problem on a satellite connection. I suffered with one for about a year and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

@Marand: Define a lot of bandwidth. Maybe you're on a cell phone, but on a normal connection I just don't see it making a big difference.

@magin: Your files are always online, but you aren't, and a local copy of all your files comes in very handy.

@d00msay3r3001: I use Live Sync for music files, but the beta requires Windows 7 or Vista and I'm not about to upgrade my OS just for that. Plus, the 50MB file limit for online storage is pitiful.

@freewarepharmacy: Free Syncplicity is limited to 2 computers. That's a deal breaker.

@John Crane: A nasty note from Dropbox? Would you care to share what they wrote? I've never seen anything but pleasant and professional communication from them.

@grendyll: I didn't. Thanks for the pointer.
