I haven’t posted or really even visited Oppo in about a year and half. How has everything been? I’ve had a lot going on recently but right now I’m kinda bored/don’t feel like writing any college essays. Pictured is my car, a base model 2011 Subaru Forester that I absolutely love.
We got it! Picked it up at the dealer last night. Got an awesome deal on an SL, and my mom absolutely loves it. Not gonna lie, I’m liking it too. It has a ton of awesome features the Odyssey and TL never gave us. I can’t wait to take some road trips this summer.
Tomorrow, February 28, 2017, will be the last day my dad owns his 2012 Acura TL. He bought it on October 25, 2012 to replace his 2006 Honda Accord. He’s put almost 97,000 miles on it since then, and it’s been a very trusty daily for him since then. And tomorrow we’ll be trading it in to get my mom a new Pathfinder.
Yeeeaaah I’m gonna say NP.
This weekend was my first time at Cars & Coffee in a few months, and luckily it was one of the best ones so far.
Exactly one year ago today was my first post here on Oppositelock. I discovered Oppo through cross posts to Jalopnik and joined so I could write a review of a Citroën rental car. Little did I know I would discover the coolest community of car enthusiasts on the entire internet. Thank you all for making Oppo such an…
Highly recommend it. My parents haven’t seen it yet and my friends didn’t really pay attention, so I need to talk about this movie somewhere. Some small spoilers after the jump.
My uncle was a pretty big diecast collector when he was younger, as evidenced by the collection he has at my grandparents’ house. It’s mainly 80's cars, and a lot of them have some sort of livery on them. I found these 11 in a box sans packaging, but he also has a shelf filled with nearly 40 unopened 80's diecast cars…
Assuming you can read headlines and look at pictures, you’ve probably gotten the gist of what happened to my grandfather’s 2007 Volkswagen Touareg yesterday. Yep. It left myself, my grandfather, my mom and my aunt stranded in the middle of nowhere in Central Europe for over an hour yesterday.
Another week, another Cars & Coffee photodump. Enjoy.
My neighbor bought this a few weeks ago, but I guess I forgot to tell Oppo. So here’s my neighbor’s new Maserati GranTurismo! I’ve heard it several times and it sounds great even at low RPMs. Here’s a bad picture of the front as well:
I went to Cars & Coffee today. Had fun and took a few pictures. Enjoy.
Funniest video I’ve seen in a while. I totally lost it “This is not Audi class, use more eloquent words.”
The annoying thing was, this car actually wasn’t that bad. We had it yesterday while the Odyssey was having its alignment and suspension done. The fact that everyone says this car is among the worst in the class shows how far cars have come, because it was a pretty good vehicle.
Instead of going to Cars & Coffee this weekend, I found myself in Newport, Rhode Island for a weekend with my family (not complaining). However, I had heard about a place in Newport called the Audrain Auto Museum from our very own marshknute, so I decided to check it out for myself. I went there this morning and got…
This weekend was my first free weekend in about a month, so I decided to make the most of it. I got up at 8:30 (early for me on a weekend) to go to Cars & Coffee until 10 and then promptly went to my town’s 1st annual charity car show until 12:30. Needless to say I had a good deal of fun.
The new car market aims to please a variety of people and move forwards with new technologies, but has that undermined one of the auto industry’s favorite segments? Ask any non enthusiast to name a muscle car and they’ll undoubtedly mention the Mustang or Camaro. Some car enthusiasts might claim those have gone too…
This one doesn't involve a Mustang though.
In an all new, recently announced joint-venture, Ford and General Motors will be working together to create an all new, full size SUV. The rumored name for this vehicle, which will be a combination of the engineering excellence of both companies, is the Expidurban, and it will be sold under both the Chevy and Ford…
It seems like everyone and their mother has already been to the New York Auto Show, but I didn’t get to go until today. This was my first time at a major auto show with new reveals and concepts, and I had a ton of fun. Here are some photos and other ramblings.
