Honestly, I 100% thought Hermen was rendered on a PS5 or something; glad to know I wasn’t the only one. How animated his face was, and something about the lighting, really made it feel like a David Cage teaser lol. I thought I was crazy and just seeing too many near photo realistic graphics, but damn it would have

Wow, yeah. A good comparison. He starts the game wanting to be himself but they turn on him and that sets the tone of the game. I think Peter told him in the first game he has to conceal himself, but still that would be something powerful.

I really don’t know what to expect. I was so surprised by the first game and

No matter how much Miles’ black identity and his interactions with the police will be focal points to the game or not, I agree that I would feel uneasy if he existed in the same NY with the same dynamic as the first game. Not that Insomniac is required to tell that story necessarily, but like you said, with the world

I would normally agree that a score isn’t needed, but by the closing paragraph it’s not even clear if the author even recommends the game or not, which should at least be a conclusion for any kind of review. Is it a *good* game? Is it worth your time if you don’t mind the violence? I’m not sure, really. And I think

Yeah that’s a bit of my takeaway too. Whether or not the ‘theme’ worked well is highly subjective. Were the characters well portrayed and acted? Are there at least clear motivations for their actions and violence? Does the violence wear on Ellie in an obvious way?

Add to that that the gameplay and presentation parts

2 years is such a quick turnaround that, even reusing the map, making a game on the scale of the original would be impressive. But Miles deserves it! I’ll be picking up the game day 1 regardless.

I kinda feel like over-focusing on the reviewer’s ‘experience’ takes away from what a reader can really gain, however. Obviously all reviews are mostly subjective, however Kotaku’s feel less and less like an informative assessment of a game’s content and quality, and more like a singular person’s diary/school essay. I

Obviously having not played the game yet, and with this review having to be very vague to prevent spoilers, whether this review was postive or negative on the game is something I couldn’t argue against anyway. However, the tone of the review really struck me, and one I’ve kinda started to notice more and more on the

Right? That was probably the best use of motion control on the ps3. And the art style was incredible.

Kena was one of the biggest take aways for me! Kinda reminds me of my favorite forgotten ps3 gem Folklore (I would kill for a sequel to that IP).

Just made me laugh!

There were a handful of holiday 2020 and one January 2021. Almost no console launches with a stellar launch year in terms of exclusives, let alone launch month, so I still think it’s impressive!

Man, can't please some people! I was blown away with the diversity of games shown. Definitely looks like a good launch year lineup to me!

Lol geez Luke, out here double dipping with the hardware hot takes!

Hard disagree. And a collection of memes just shows what any new product by a popular company would go through, really. Not unusual! I'm happy with the unique design of both console and controller.

Respectfully disagree! I think we always take graphics for granted, and new consoles will have less and less large leaps between generations, but several games shown with scale and detail definitely surpass what ps4 has right now. Horizon, Ratchet, and Kena were honestly stunning, to me.

Starting off with a GTA V port honestly made me laugh in disbelief, but wow did Sony bring it. Just a clean, effective showcase of PS5 games, with a nice mix of in-game footage, surprises (DEMON'S SOULSSSS), and diversity of titles overall. Obviously could have used more release dates and console price, but it sure

Personally, the rhombus of the ps4 is my favorite console design, and ive had them all since Nintendo. It just really fit well with my entertainment hub. Ps5 is wild and stark, and just a little bit like a router lol, but I like the V shape for 5. It's memorable and futuristic for sure.

There was a blink and you'll miss it picture of the console on it's side! Personally, it's bonkers and I like it.

This is fantastic! I wanted to play through the ME saga again, but found that my EA account no longer had ME3 on it, and EA did absolutely nothing since I couldn’t find the email receipt from years and years ago. Didn’t want to use their terrible store again, but I’ll get a steam key eventually for sure.
