Fair enough, and thanks for replying. I admit I was very curious about the hedge.

Asimov wrote a bunch of short stories along those lines, collected a while back as Asimov's Mysteries.

"Wars become Star Wars, Lost becomes Lost In Space, and Friday The 13th becomes Jason X, all of which…" were the same pile of shit.

Is there any reason Midnight Cowboy isn't now PG-13?

So, very much like cunnilingus?

I don't know about other states, but iirc in NY you can request someone's driver's license info simply by filling out a form and paying $20. You have to give the reason, and I think it's primarily to deter domestic violence, but it's still available.

"… if I could help it."

I tell ya, doing academic research is a lot more fun now. Not waiting three weeks for a book so you can get on with things is Good. Not filling out hundreds of Interlibrary Loan forms is Very Good.

Wasn't that a possible source of a screw up, though? Or was it that Bradlee/Robards grills him about it and he's sure he got it right?

Ha! It was so memorable I haven't seen AtPM in 20 years and I'm pretty sure the number of cups of coffee Hoffman tells Redford he drank to keep her talking was 20.

I respectfully disagree.

Is your local historical society a public institution? Because if it is, or if it's operated with a fair chunk of gov't funds, you may be allowed to copy the material.

That's been known for quite a while…

Hmm. I'm not sure wishing on Nixon what citizens who are reluctant to provide evidence are regularly threatened with on Law & Order is the best move. I think we already knew Nixon, especially with Kissinger and his realpolitik insanity, would just shrug over the prospect of another few thousand dead on any given

Dancing? No.
Napalming kids? Sure!

You forgot "war criminal."

In addition to holding an unnecessary election that cost the good taxpayers around $12 million just so Christie could run up the score.

McGovern must have felt like a punching bag at that point. He had already asked pretty much everyone to be on his ticket, and had been turned down by at least a half dozen prominent Dems. Cartoonists were having a field day.

Mike, if you mean it doesn't matter in the sense that nude gymnasts could have been performing flaming cartwheels, too, as long as they didn't drown out Redford, then you're right.
