And as histrionic as the scene of Street letting himself fall off the back of the boat could have been, that it was presented as him wanting to live and his survival instincts and fighter's character taking over saved it.

Yup. Can't recall it at the moment but there was another appalling example of the writers using a character's absurd failure to state basic information as a pivotal plot moment. At the least you have to goose those situations with the put upon one's pride surfacing, to the point where 'If you think I'd do something

Yup. I raved about it to my sister, but she couldn't get past a) football, and b) her feeling that to many of the cast looked closer to 30 than to 17. Which is fair complaint. Only Aimee Teegarden and Jesse Plemons looked anything close to the right age.

I wonder what you would make of "Rectify"?

Thanks for the work, Sonia.

Of the new characters introduced i only found Jurnee Smolett (apparently now Smolett-Bell) as affecting as the original cast, but kudos for finding an engaging way of in effect rebooting the series. Damned if I know what seasons six through eight would have looked like.

The reason was Plot.

"In the second season of The Walking Dead, Telltale uses your decisions from the first season and its one-act interlude, 400 Days, to inform the story as it unfolds. "

Sounds like you haven't figured out yet that what you do doesn't make any difference, other than create a few very, very small wrinkles in events.

Yeah, the world doesn't work quite in the way depicted. I can't get Bill Gates to sign an autograph and have the paper turn out to be a document that turns all his holdings over to me, yell 'Psych!', and move into his house.

It's almost wonderful how readily you dispense with any argument that inconveniences your position. No one here needs me to speak for them, but part of the point is obviously that you're attributing death tolls to a political position without bothering to note that that political position was represented in name only.

Your conflation of the two suggests an 'Intro to PoliSci' course is in order.

Terrific avatar!

Agreed, It's one of the essential problems utilitarians face, and it helps hone ones philosophical positions.

I keep hoping that the whole arc of continuum is that despite the
appearance that people can change the future, even with time travel they
are powerless:

Hmm. You're clearly the orange Team-LIBer8

Corinne doesn't have legitimate reason to be afraid of Vic personally; at least she didn't prior to ratting him out. In other words, she had no reason to fear he would hurt her, and certainly not the kids. Once she ratted him out, of course, she created her only reason to fear him.

Corrine: Her neverending scumbaggery is getting depressing. Shawn Ryan must hate this woman or what/who she stands for. Has she EVER done anything upstanding or selfless? The woman is a giant quivering knot of MeMeMe.

Vic, bringing the awesome: "This is something Pezuela never understood: You've got a goddamned action hero on your payroll."

First it was the health of their kid, then as they were ready to bolt the gangbangers stole all their money and they needed to stick around to blackmail Vic and get cash from him.
