I’m an engineer. I understand. People that are car people understand.

I disagree. There will always be people that just want the looks, and don’t care about the performance. These people will usually put ridiculous wheels on their cars because they look cool. Not everyone is a driving enthusiast, and most people couldn’t even tell you the differences between the types of drivetrains.
Exactly! My wife went from a 4-Matic equipped C280 to a 4-Matic C300 Sport, and now has a RWD GLK350. She thought she NEEDED the AWD system, but if I hadn’t told her there was a difference, she’d have no idea.
They can’t even use a traditional bomber for the MOP or MOAB, because they’re too big, and need to be deployed via a modified pallet system out of the stern door of a cargo aircraft! Surprisingly, for as large as the B-52 is, her bomb bay isn’t *that* big. I was able to see one up close for the first time in a decade…
The reason the US and Russia require such a large stockpile is to ENSURE MAD. In the case of a first strike, Russia would not attempt to destroy cities, as that would all but ensure that every Russian would die a fiery death. Rather, their first strike would be to knock out all land-based ICBMs, and at the same time,…
Says who? Acura is all FWD, I believe, and their AWD is FWD-biased. Same with Volvo, unless they’ve changed that recently. Audi is consistently lauded as being a fantastic marque - all FWD. Lexus is the same thing.
From what I’ve heard, the Continental was always supposed to be built on a common, modified platform, while a new model that’s due between now and 2020 is supposed to ride on the Mustang’s bones. Personally, I really hope they come out with a great luxury coupe, based on the Mustang, because I’d LOVE to park one next…
How often do most people spend at the top end of their rev range? Not very much. Torque is way more important to the vast majority of the population, and in that respect, any Honda engine I’ve ever drive has fallen exceedingly short.
You’re exactly right about the lightsaber training. However, I’ve read that the crystal used in Kylo Ren’s lightsaber is apparently damaged, hence, why his saber is always popping and spitting, the way it does. It’s certainly a metaphor for his persona!
Typical clickbait.
I might be looking into things a little too much, but my thought, at that moment, was that she concentrated, and someone else was helping her realize her force powers. Of course, that someone else would have been Luke. I know the EU is no longer canon, but I remember reading plenty of times that Jedi were able to…
I played in a men’s baseball league this past fall, and despite not really being a pitcher, ever, I had to start a game. Five minutes before we were supposed to take the field, I had to drop a major deuce. I barely made it for my warm-ups. I wish I had some Immodium, at that point.
I actually saw Asante Samuel at a sushi place in Moorestown, NJ, when he was playing for the Eagles. He was eating next to us the whole time, and I had no idea, because I’m a Giants fan. So, he and his wife (girlfriend?) get up to leave, and our server is like - “DO YOU GUYS KNOW WHO THAT IS?!?! IT’S ASANTE SAMUEL!”
Yes, and no. Like I posted in another thread, working as an in-house engineer at Ford will mean dealing with managers meddling with ideas before they can reach true decision makers. I’ve worked for two huge corporations (Lockheed Martin and Honeywell) and can tell you first hand, that it’s extremely difficult to gain…
$100k might not sound like a lot when you’re talking about an experienced engineer’s annual salary, but when you’re discussing things that could be done on nights and weekends, with minimal investment in hardware, and simply the time it takes to develop the software and APIs. Don’t think of it in terms of hourly…
The better part of the plan is that when you’re hired as a new grad, you’re typically not given the ability to have a voice in the engineering discussion, or even suggest ideas, without heavy management oversight. Letting the ideas come from outside, where they can’t be quashed or significantly altered by layers of…
Regarding Sync as a selling point, I purposely waiting until MY2016 to buy a new Mustang, despite being ready to ditch my 2006 quite some time ago.
Nah, they needed to get to a platform that would support it (Sync 3), then take the time to integrate.
Is the iPhone the only phone that’s sold?
Several phones do, yes.
