I believe all gas turbines can run off several types of fuel, ranging from diesel or kerosene to propane, natural gas, or biofuels. The LM2500s on the US Navy's DDGs, FFGs, and CGs use a form of Jet A, if I recall correctly, which is very similar to kerosene.

I know people that used to live and work at Naval Weapons Center Dahlgren, in Virginia, and for many years, they had to test fire the same 16" guns that are on the Iowa-class Battleships, which they'd typically do right around 0530 or 0600, and sometimes on Saturdays. People loved that shit.

He was actually really good in "Spanglish", "Reign Over Me", and while I didn't see it, I heard he was great in "Punch Drunk Love". I'll also say that, while it was a funny drama, he was good in "Funny People".

I understand that. I keep my Nexus off the company network, and just use their web client for email. I'm not sure what you mean by not getting updates once you un-root the phone. If you go back to stock, and believe me, HTC will try to force you (at least they did when I had the Thunderbolt), you'll get updates

Mercury and Gemini were even smaller! I took my son to the USS Yorktown, where they have a mock-up of a Mercury capsule, and the space, or should I say, lack thereof, is just insane.

Why does bloatware scare you off? It's very simple, for most phones, at least, to unlock the bootloader, root it, and install Cyanogen. Easy, peasy, and no more Sense or bloatware.

You're assuming that there isn't some software advancement in Android L that reduces power consumption. They might be using a Super AMOLED screen, which is significantly better on power.

Probably because the Nexus line is, by definition, meant to be a small volume line. Upping the line to five or six different devices doesn't make a whole lot of sense for Google, as it costs them a significant amount to develop them, and even though there's little marketing involved, the devices are meant to be a

Did anyone notice the T-Mobile Monthly 4G LTE sign hanging in the window during the first scene of 'Gotham,' last night? Seems that if you're going to do a show that's primarily back-story, about events that happened twenty years ago, you might want to scrub the sets a little better. It was also weird that the

My buddy used to be a KC-135 boom operator, and is now a KC-10 pilot. I'll shoot him a message and ask!

I know several people that have done the swap. Essentially, you use the block and lower end from the Taurus, with the SVT heads and intake from the Contour. It increases displacement, while at the same time, increasing both flow through the heads and compression ratio. There are a ton of caveats, depending on which

SVT Contour with 3.0L swap from the Taurus, even better!

As a Mustang guy, the only thing that comes close to this is an original Boss 302. Seriously.

Not true, at all. They were completely road legal.

Great article, Tyler!

Google's customer service is on point.

Only cheap, fizzy, yellow beer tastes better cold. Good beer tastes better between 40 and 50 degrees.

SOHC with an iron block, and no significant power increase? No thanks.

Temperature doesn't skunk beer, light skunks beer, period. The author isn't very well informed.

Oh, I can totally understand that, but a bunch of college kids drinking Miller Lite don't pose that big a threat...
