From what I've been reading on Twitter, people are bartering for all kinds of things, over there. One person had three light bulbs, and was looking to trade them for a door knob!
I'm glad someone posted this! So much hyperbole and half truths from Gawker sites. I thought Jalopnik was above that, but I guess not.
Apparently, the first reporters to get to Sochi found that not only were there no curtain rods, but there were no curtains, anywhere. It made it back to a lot of the reporters in the States, so he brought his own! I'd have done the same thing!
Steve Politi, a reporter from the Star Ledger, in NJ, said something on Twitter about his room being completely outfitted, including a shower curtain rod (he'd brought his own shower curtain). Unfortunately, he wasn't able to install the rod, as there was no wall to affix the rod to!
More likely, said Bro Truck would brake stand and dump sooty exhaust from its chipped diesel. Trucks deserve truck engines.
Truck No!

I'm not going to cover obsolescence or fighter development lifecycles, because others already have, and proved that you have ZERO idea what you're talking about.
The QF-16 program is more about taking obsolete fighter aircraft and utilizing them for roles where they can be useful, rather than just sitting in a field. Lockheed Martin is still building F-16s, and if needed, could push out a whole shit ton of them pretty quickly. These would not be the oldest A/B models, but…
As badass an aircraft as that is, you could never, ever do it. Look at the difference in body shapes between the F-14 and F-15, and the F-22 and F-35. The fuselage, wings, wing roots, nose, intake ducts, exhaust ducts, tails, everything has been completely reworked to incorporate stealth.
Iron Dome is NOT for ballistic missile defense, air superiority, or defeating incoming aircraft. Iron Dome is designed to defeat incoming rocket and mortar fire, something that's completely pointless on the coast of the US, as the Mexicans and Canadians don't have much of an interest in firing short range weapons…
Agreed! When I look at the crap I used to eat, almost constantly, compared to what I eat now, I'm astounded!
I've had the same issues, and it's always been WiFi related.
It takes very little power to light a string of LED bulbs, which is what they're probably using. The strings we used this Christmas took two AA batteries, which are 1.5V each, and produce about 3.9 Watt-hours of power, each. In series, that's 3V, which is not a lot, at all.
The Mercedes dealership had one sitting out front when I took my wife's C300 in for service, a few weeks ago. I tried to get the service manager to let me use that as a loaner, but they wouldn't budge. Bastards.
Most football players don't get paid particularly well. Sure, they get paid more than you or I, but many are getting league minimum, which is anywhere from $400k to $900k, depending on years of experience in the league. Again, that's a lot of money, but you and I expect to have a job past 30, whereas these guys…
Giants fan, here, and I knew the Seahawks were going to win. I thought it would be much closer, like 21-16, but I didn't think there was a chance in hell of the Broncos winning.
Millions of people that have likely never driven a vehicle with steering that can actually be considered, you know, good.
I've driven plenty of Hondas, from older Civics, Accords, and CRXs, to newer Civics and Accords. I've also driven numerous Acuras, including Integras and whatever they pass off as cars with alphabet soup names. Their steering is awful.
