It’s starting to seem like The AV Club has an ax to grind with SNL. Almost every episode gets a shitty grade, certain cast members and/or impressions are constantly in the crosshairs, and the strange minute-by-minute breakdown suggests that this site is reviewing a television program that does not exist.

The dirty secret of the first five years of SNL is that, for as legendary as the cast was, many of the musical acts did not stand the test of time.

They used to periodically show this on USA Network in the very early 90s when I was about 7 or 8. That vampire on skates coming out of the darkness and dragging nails on the wall was probably the scariest fucking thing I had ever seen. Now I’m old enough where I’m just amazed anybody has the stamina to rock that pair…
