If they really want to make positive change, look no further than Alicia Keys’ stellar hosting job last night. She treated the job like a fan would, with sincerity and joy, and it worked. The Oscars are always hiring people who - while each are funny in their own way - are treating each telecast like its just another

This feels like the perfect opportunity for both parties to come to the table and get back to the business of making GOTG movies. They’re old, he apologized, he committed no crime, it hurt nobody except him... redemption time.

Also, he didn’t DO anything. He had the intent to commit an act that was never committed.”

I can certainly respect that opinion. My issue with everybody's outrage about his speech wasn't that people thought it was clumsy or naive, but that people were dissecting it like the Constitution, when it's just an innocent expression of good will, no more harmful than Ringo saying Peace and Love.

Excuse me...pardon me...whoops! Ah, there’s my seat. Sorry folks, just getting comfortable and waiting for the inevitable AVC takedown of Peter Farrelly for daring to express a fairly commonplace opinion and...I don't know, they'll think of something, I'm sure.

But the editorial stance of this website forevermore should not be that he is a Bad Person Who Did A Bad Thing, because

As much as Matt Damon can say some tone-deaf shit from time to time...”

These drumming jokes are coming so fast they’re giving me...AHEM...(straightens tie)...(ushers friends and family into the room)...(sound check)...whiplash.

I agree that this wasn’t his finest piece, and poorly-timed to boot. I get that he’s stepped over the line on occasion, he can come off as entitled, and he has some pretty against-the-grain opinions when it comes to religion in general.

Did you know Mike's dad was British? And Mike's from Canada? It's been almost ten minutes since he last told us.

I tip my knife to you.

Nobody is ever looking for Shia.

The Award for Biggest Waste of Time goes to....an unprecedented 3-way tie!

It’s not that AV Club is “lefty” and not “straight” journalism, it’s that an amazing amount of material and links are generated by feverishly reporting that “A Person of Note WHO YOU THOUGHT WAS ON YOUR SIDE had a long-form interview, and said this one sideways/hypocritical/human thing somewhere in there, and we’ve
