Just because a movie doesn't have a traditional story structure doesn't mean it was "aimless." Carax is in complete control of his art throughout.

Judging a movie that clearly wasn't trying to innovate on a story arc level by that standard is pretty silly. Your need to express your dislike of the movie is making you silly.

Exactly. And people will come around to The Master and Inherent Vice in the coming years. It took a lot of Kubrick's movies a few years to be accepted as brilliant.

Oh for sure. But that's the best run of songs on the whole thing. Hey You, Is There Anybody Out There? and Nobody Home make a great 1-2-3 punch. Not to mentions Comfortably Numb.
