When people talk about how annoyed they are with camera-like effects in games, all I'm able to do is shrug. I have astigmatism and terrible eyesight, so I have to wear glasses just to walk across my house safely, meaning that most of those effects are simply things I have to deal with on a daily basis. Lense flare? I

You're missing the point. I think that's what Gita is actually advocating for. She's saying not enough games take frame rates seriously enough. Whereas the conversation tends to be around 30/60/whatever is fastest, Gita's saying developers should figure out what's appropriate for the game they're designing and make

Ehh, I dunno that it's good form to award a game that award if it's an emergent story that they're recognizing. That's more an achievement in systems design than in storytelling specifically, I'd say, the difference being that "true storytelling" (I know) is more deliberate. Or at least that's my feeling.

As a CG animator, I want to add one more:

Animator Life Pros

I'm always impressed with the knowledge those people have about human anatomy, and kinematics. I can really enjoy well done animations, but it's also sad to see bad ones.

I think the title of this should be ANIMATION IS HARD. I'm just about to start my final major project for an animation course and oh my god I am both terrified and excited.

Its not just Japonese animation that is hard animation in general is hard

So, I had a walk through your post history. You're that guy.

It's not just about being able to draw. There is a innate sense of timing and an understanding of perspective and staging to make animation feel as intense as this one does. Knowing how many frames it should take to execute a move and which frames/poses are important to effectively describe what is happening is much

I don't think I'm capable of even fathoming how cool you must be, if you think there is nothing impressive in this animation.

the goal of this 2 min clip was not to tell a story but to demonstrate talent and concept. Animators aren't responsible for storyboarding or writing a script, if they can do it its an added plus, what he did was amazing and to do it by himself deserves recognition. He can get better, but for what this is its amazing.

If you understood animation or how impressive it would be to do this at 19, you would be.

As much as I would like to agree, I can't because I had games not work on me or crash when I entered a new area every time (kotor 2 comes to mind). Time wiped away a lot of the bad times I had with other games but I'm pretty sure I encountered quite a few game-breaking glitches that I had to look online for a solution

Old games had loads of bugs, too.

Sure, that's nice to say.

There is nothing wrong with it, even if its done a lot. There's nothing wrong with a fictional sexualized objectified powerless female, in any way. Its a legitimate choice to make.

Calling someone out for lying doesn't mean they are actually lying, you understand that right?

Empress, you are so much better than these feebs you're arguing with, it's stunning. You have more grit than I do. Hats off to you.

There have been plenty of non-military, random males killed just for shits and giggles.
