Earlier today I was imagining that in the future there could just be a giant spaceship/women's health clinic that visited countries where access to abortion or contraception or prenatal care were limited.

That's a good idea.
I guess there isn't any real-life Rosey the Riveter.
PS: So that guy in Honduras didn't know there was such a person as an Asian from the US? That's weird because I thought there was at least a veerrry small Asian population in Latin America. I guess that could be true, but he thought that none live in the US?
No...I'm just saying I don't think anyone is dumb enough to think that the effectiveness of a vaccine is gender-specific, but the FDA approval/recommendation could be.
That makes so much sense! And since men aren't gonna give all there potential partners an HPV test, I see now why, gay or straight, it is worth it for a guy to consider. I was just thinking if most women have it, then straight guys would be in the clear, but I guess you don't really wanna think "ehhh she's probably…
The commercials I see are always all women, so I didn't know.
Is your use of "crack" a hint that you think they are pushing it too hard? Or sometime people just like to say "like crack." I know I do.
I did not read it that way.
I was thinking that straight men would be less likely to get HPV because the women they are sexing would (hopefully) have had the vaccine.
Thanks for sharing your experience. While I was aware that covert racism is pretty common in Latin America (soooo many arguments with my bf, who is majoring in latino/a studies and I think idealizes Mexico and a beautiful land of equality compared to the US), but I was thinking of that Dior guy who I thought got in…
Hey. Thanks for the great info.
Hi. Thanks for the info. I guess I was just thinking that straight men would already be protected by women getting the vaccine and didn't realize that men are getting it too.l Please see my other replies to similar responses :D.
Hi, thanks. I wasn't even thinking in terms of effectiveness, but approval for use. Apparently, it is both effect and approved. Oh, and also recommended.
I had never heard it recommend for men (maybe just because I'm not a man), but now I know that they do recommend it, so that's great. I also thought maybe straight men would be protected by women getting the vaccine, but I guess not. I guess the lesson is no matte who you are or who you have sex with, you should…
No, I know straight men have oral sex. It just seems like a lot of people don't think about preventing spread of disease by oral sex and so they don't use condoms for that even if they usually do for anal or vaginal sex. Also there's the notion that oral sex isn't as serious or isn't "real" sex, so people might not…
Wow! Since it can go genital-to-mouth, it makes sense that it can go mouth-to-mouth, but it hadn't occurred to me!
Thanks for the info! It makes sense.
You're kidding! This whole time I was worried if they had given me the shot to prevent polio for boys on accident!! JK, obviously I don't think all vaccines are gender-specific. I just thought this one might be because I've only seen it marketed to women and they often mention cervical cancer. Lots of other people…
Oh! Well, that's great.
